Not very good quality.
The auto-reverse function worked one time. As did the direction control button. Rewind did not work unless fast forward was pressed first. There was an audible hiss through the headphones when using either fast forward or rewind. It did play the tape OK and I was able to record several tracks to mp3.

Useless and cheaply made. Forget it.
Does not work on my MacBook Pro; cheaply made. Installed software and followed directions included with product. It plays cassette tapes, but fails to record them onto computer, as advertised. Instructions did not mention going into software to select the input you want to use. It is defaulted to "microphone", which is useless as you are trying to record from the cassette device, but if you choose that input, the thing craps out and tells you there is an error. Then you are directed to websites and discussion groups where someone might know how to fix the problem. The manufacturer can't be bothered with standing behind their product. By that time, I'd concluded that this was taking far too much time and getting far too frustrating, considering this is advertised as an easy to use product. Aside from that, it is cheaply made and very annoying to have to slide a stubborn button every time you want to open the cassette compartment. I don't know if there are any reliable devices of this kind that transfer old cassette tapes directly into computers. It may be easier to just use an old cassette deck plugged into an interface, like the old reliable InPort to do the job.

Not compatible with Mac High Sierra
No where on Amazon's site or the product specifications does it say that Audacity doesn't work with Mac High Sierra OS 10.13.5. Maybe it works with some macs, and Audacity's site says something about how "someday" it will work, but not today apparently. I will be returning the recorder. I tried adjusting the input volume as directed. All I get are scratchy sounds. Irritating. Don't say Mac compatible and not even put the versions which you are compatible with. Will put this same comment on Amazon.

Terrible audio quality
I bought this as a replacement for a unit sold under a different brand name. When I unboxed it was clear that the units were identical. Both create a horrible background rumble that is not present on my main cassette player. These are not worth buying.

Works fine
Nothing special, worked fine, directions a bit fuzzy but made it happen.

Cheaply made
Really cheap made product . Transfers with too much noise. You will not get your original sound.

Good Luck!
This is an “I don’t know yet” review. I rated it one star, because I can hear that the player works if I pop in a tape and listen through the earphones they provided with the unit. So, in that regard it “works”. What’s not good is that figuring out how to install the Audacity software to convert the tape to MP3 is very confusing and arduous. Sorry, but there needs to be a simple step-by-step guide with screen shots. Instead, you get a text-heavy, dense website from the Audacity software makers that is not user friendly to try to read to figure out what to do. It also seems like you need TWO different pieces of software from the site to do the job. The “user’s manual” is no help here. Also, the install disc is a mini disc. I don’t care insert that into my external Mac disc drive. Seems to me that this caters to Windows users who still have a disc reader that will accept a mini-disc. This is now one of those purchases that will sit around for a while until I can find the time to deal with it. Bummer.
