Great taste - super healthy
Love the product, tastes better than I thought it would and has the right amount of caffeine. I have read many times that most people need to eat more mushrooms, this is my easy way to do it personally.

Good product but leaves room for improvement in regards to taste
This review is for the Blueprint Bryan Johnson Super Shrooms Mushroom Coffee Alternative. This blend has various different ingredients, primarily mushrooms, that are more health focused. It gets its caffeine from green coffee beans and has 70mg per serving. It’s an alternative coffee and does not have the characteristics or taste of regular coffee. I got this for my wife, who is a coffee drinker, but I did sample some myself. I could taste the cinnamon but it has a slight bitter taste to it also. After that there wasn’t much else I could determine. It’s just not overly flavorful. It’s not bad, but not something I would drink regularly without adding a flavored creamer, which is what we did after testing it first.Overall, I’d only drink this for its health benefits and not because it just tastes good, because it’s just okay. I like that its an alternative with good ingredients but that taste can certainly be improved. Price is fair but a little on the high side. 4/5 stars.

Tastes Better than I Expected! But, the GABA...????
I do like eating mushrooms, but the thought of them being coffee was hard to picture. Upon opening the package, it smells very much like the Abuelita Mexican Hot Chocolate (likely attributed to the cinnamons that are added to the coffee!). I mix it with about 9 oz. of water which is in the directed range of 8-10. It dissolves pretty easily with just stirring. I like my regular coffee black, and strong. Drinking this does have a bit of a dark coffee taste but it is just off a bit. This is due in part to being mushrooms I am sure, but likely due to the cinnamon too. Instead of running from the spice flavor, I chose to embrace it. I do this by adding a splash of my Fairlife chocolate protein milk. It mixes together really well, and actually ends up tasting like Mexican Hot Chocolate!GABA!? I understand why caffeine was added to this, to make it mimic "regular" coffee. But why the Gaba?? I saw it listed in the ingredient profile when I ordered and assumed it would be a negligible amount. But I found myself really drowsy feeling after drinking this and looked up Gaba, and I am sure this is what makes me feel this way. If it didn't have the caffeine, it may be good as a before bed beverage. But to contain both ingredients makes this drink really confusing and does not work for me!

I hoped I would like this but am surprised that I really like this!
I'd head about mushroom coffee alternatives for a while and was interested in the health benefits. But, with that said, I'm a bit of a coffee snob (i.e., my morning routine begins with a pour over in which I'm measuring the beans I'm grinding and the water I'm adding (each to the gram) and thinking about grind consistency, water temperature, roast of the bean, etc.I am telling you all this because I would not have been surprised if I had really disliked this instant coffee equivalent... but here's the thing... I actually do like it much more than I would have thought. To be sure, it's simple to make (i.e., add one scoop of the pre-ground powder - using the included scoop) and then add 6-8 ounces of hot water (or about 200 grams). Mix it all up and you get a cup of instant joe that.... well, the taste won't win any coffee roasting competitions (i.e., you're not going to find floral notes, etc.) but it does (in my opinion) taste better than many of the coffees that I've drank in my life. For example, the first cup I made tasted more interesting and better than most of the cups of coffee I get on flights, better than much of the overroasted pre-ground coffees I've tried, better than most of the pods I've drank, and even better than some of the fresh beans I've purchased and ground myself.Again - I'm not saying I love the taste. But I do find it interesting and likable and I do appreciate the amount of thought that they put into making it taste good without just trying to make it be a 1:1 replacement for generic over-roasted coffee. Now - beyond the (good but not amazing) taste, I like everything else about this product. It's vegan, non-GMO, no gluten, lab-tested, and filled with good mushrooms as well a bit of cinnamon (which, while I didn't taste it, is also reputed to offer health benefits). To be clear, I cannot and am not speaking to any health benefits of this product - but I am happy with my first experiences with mushroom coffee.

Doesn't replace my coffee
Couldn't get this to taste great, maybe if you added a bunch of other classic coffee things to it but as a stand alone black coffee replacement for me it falls short.

Healthy mushroom coffee alternative.
I used this mushroom coffee alternative instead of my regular coffee and I was pretty impressed with the taste. I used a small amount of powder and made hot coffee with cream and sugar. I was happy with the taste but it takes getting use to. The taste was a little nutty but with cream and sugar I could barely notice the difference. This coffee alternative has 70 mg caffeine and that was plenty for my morning. The process of making my coffee was pretty much the same as original coffee and the powder mixes in well without any clumps. I feel good drinking this plan based coffee knowing it has all the antioxidants from all the different types of mushrooms in this product. There are 30 servings in this packet and for the price this is a great deal.

Like dark roast coffee with woodsy undertones
I prepared this according to directions, with 8 oz water and tasted it straight without any additions. It has a deep rich flavor that is quite strong but not harsh. You can taste the faint undertones of mushroom but I didn’t think it was overpowering. I normally add coconut milk and stevia to my coffee, so that’s how I finished it, and I preferred it that way. Tastes a bit like coffee and dark chocolate. As I finished my first cup, I found a fair amount of sludge in the bottom, so give it a stir halfway through because although it seemed to dissolve nicely at first, it tends to settle. Overall, I thought it was a pleasant beverage but the $30 price is too high for me to buy it regularly. Would have given it 5 stars if the price was lower.
