I bought the DMT-100W metal style guitar and i'm very impressed! Been playing since i was a kid and i'm a 55 years old metal head. i was curious about all the good reviews here and there. I had several guitars from $750 to $1500 of different brands and models. i can say that this Donner guitar has a lot of potential! The neck/frets job is done way better than some of those jackson and others.... that cost 2-3-4 times the price of the Donner! Bought mine in the perspective of using the neck and the body to install some better parts that i have for a while. I do my own repairs and setups so not a big deal for me there. But suprisingly, the nut and slots are perfectly cuts and seem to be made (no bone nut) of a similar Graphtech/Tusq material wich is great! The Hipshot style bridge is really good and stable and the intonation was perfect! It was just a matter of basic adjustments to give life to that guitar!!! The same kind of basic setup that some higher end guitar requires. I can set the action so low without any buzzing, but incredibly low!!! The guitar is very resonant, not too heavy, and a very pleasant kind of C shape neck. Different from the ibanez necks, it is still a racing neck for sure! i didn't try the Donner pickups, it was an instant swap out of the box because i had a pair of Seymour Duncan. That is the only thing i changed on the guitar + a set of ernie ball slinky 10-46 (the stock strings are crap). It is a good beginner guitar? ABSOLUTELY! With some minor adjustments, that guitar show its true potential!! Impressive guitar!!! It is a good guitar for advanced players too? I SAY YES! Great guitar that can be turned into a beast with just a pair of good pickups! Already thinking of buying one in black! And Donner! Please make a 7 strings version of the DMT-100!!!

I’ve never had a low cost guitar come out the box this ready to go. This things works and was built well.. Needs oil on fretboard, that’s it... Great pickups, hot not muddy at all. Satin finish on neck just glides.. no drag.. Neck is a bit thicker than most of us want but acceptable. My only complaint. Frets finished nicely.

I usually don't write reviews but felt I had to on this guitar. I bought this to experiment with and I don't want to screw up any of my PRS guitars. I mainly wanted this guitar because of the fixed bridge and so I can down tune to drop C, etc. First impression out of the box: The guitar has simple, clean lines. The flat finish and satiny feel of the neck is actually pretty inviting. The fit and finish is really nice on the guitar I received - no rough frets, seem to be pretty level. I figured it would at least make a good project/ mod guitar. I had to adjust intonation on only two strings and adjust the action, which is normal. The only critique I have is that while the action is not bad, either the neck pocket needs to be 1/16" deeper or the bridge saddles need to be slightly thinner as I couldn't quite get the action as low as I like and it wasn't the truss rod needing adjustment. Sounds/playability: While you're not going to mistake the pickups for Seymour Duncan or the like they are pretty good for heavy rhythm playing. Running through the Boss ME-80 and a small tube amp I was able to get some good old-school Metallica tones, as well as some newer stuff like Seether. I was originally planning to drop new electronics in, but after a little tweaking on the pedalboard and amp I don't think I will. I really enjoy playing this guitar! I am completely amazed that this guitar is as good as it is. I'm already thinking about buying at least one more to mod.

I bought the white Mayones looking guitar. I needed a platform for my Roland synth pickup, but didn’t want an expensive guitar. After reading reviews and seeing the on sale price…I grabbed one for $150 after taxes. The guitar will REQUIRE a setup. It will not tune up correctly even if you try. The bridge on mine was not placed correctly length wise. I had to take off the springs of the saddle screws to obtain more travel. As you can see, it took the E string all the way to the end to set the intonation for the string. In saying that, the guitar intonation was able to be set for the entire guitar using my Peterson tuner. Chords sounded very nice, afterwards. The neck will need adjustment. The truss rod adjusts both ways. The neck is on the bigger, Gibson side. Still comfortable. The pickups are hot and lively. The clarity was not what I expected. The volume and tone have a solid feeling as well as the 3 way switch. The paint seems to be like the cheap Gibson matte finish they used on their Melody Maker guitars from 2013. It looks nice, but I doubt it will protect the guitar for long. The tuners get the job done. I’d change them to locking. It’s a VERY light guitar. The strap is extra sturdy. It also comes with a string dampener for the Metal type players. Overall, it’s a very good value, but elbow grease is required or you can spend the money on a setup and probably still be ahead in value.
