DT401 Desktop Calculator (With Huge Display and Euro conversion))

This is a large calculator with big keys and a good, easy to read, display, which replaced an identical calculator I'd had for many years of loyal service until it ran out of calculus power and gave up on me. Great calculator, easy to use, good size and functionality. There's a good reason why I replaced my old calculator with another identical calculator...

Decades ago, in the early days of electronic calculators, developers competed to make them ever smaller. There is still – obviously – a need for portable, pocket-sized calculators; but when you are sitting at a desk it is much easier to work with a keyboard as big as your hand, with keys as big as the ends of your fingers. This calculator meets that requirement.The functions are basic – add, subtract, multiply and divide – there is the usual single memory and also a currency-conversion mechanism.What is lacking is a manual. The back of the box shows examples of simple calculations but it is not obvious, for instance, what the “a” setting on the decimal point selector does (go to the makers’ website for that) or how to set up multiplication or division by a constant (use trial and error!). Neither “OFF” nor “ON/C” nor “CE” erases the contents of memory or the currency conversion rate but “AC” does clear both the memory and currency conversion registers.As and when the battery needs to be replaced, it seems that you need to unscrew at least five very tiny screws on the back, obviously a fiddly exercise. Also, nowhere does the box or the calculator tell you what battery your need (ir's actually one LR1130, according to the website).Overall, it is useful as a good-sized, basic desk calculator.

We use this calculator in our office at work. The large buttons make it super easy to use even with gloves on. The screen tilts making it even easier to read the numbers. My grandad can even use it without his glasses.

Ordered for an older friend & she thinks its brilliant.Shes happy so Im happy & would recommend for anybody who finds like so manyremotes,mobile phones to small & fiddly.

Good item but even though I checked all measurements, its still much bigger than I expected

Did not expect that this calculator was so large, but that is an asset for me, as I use it as desktop calculator, and is easy to go to. Easy to input numbers and all functions available for what I need. Also nice large and clear display which is very easy to read.
