The unfortunate (or perhaps fortunate) part of buying a self defense implement, is the fact that having to use either taser or spray to test there efficacy probably means you're in a unsavory situation. So instead of using them on myself/someone else, I'll mention the great 2 for 1 price on the products, as well as the detailed information on shock pain. This taser advertises itself to be even stronger that the previous VST taser I had (maybe its VTK or something), though the flashlight is weaker, without a doubt, shining it in an attackers eyes will leave light spots in there vision. It's also a bit bigger that I expected, and rather sturdy, even compared to my previous metal taser.The anti grab bars on the prints are also pretty cool. Barring it starts to crap out on, this product is currently 5 stars.

Ha! It goes happy zap and hurts pretty bad, scary sounding, haven't tried the pepper spray. But the tazer is nice at least, it's nice it's a 2 in 1, worth it for that fact, but the Sabre pepper spray has a bit of a weird top that can go off if in a tight pocket with the way the head turns on it. Light is fairly bright.

It works well and safely..Gives you a sense of feeling safe .

Love the stun gun for self defense when we're out with our dogs. Approaching aggressive dogs take off just by the sound.The pepper spray is far too small, not enough for self defense.

This Sabre stun gun offers many attributes that are vital for using a stun gun as a self-defense choice. The ability to penetrate 3-layers of clothing, new anti-grab technology, the comfortable grip, a decent little LED light, level III on the pain scale (Sabre’s site educates you on the different levels and the amount of pain certain stun guns administrate), etc.IMHO, it's the best choice overall for a stun gun. Mainly due to it's near identical shape, features, and particularly their boast of 15 BILLION VOLTS. Electrodes per centimeter apart equals 30,000 volts.So for example, if the electrodes are spaced 5 centimeters apart your max voltage is 150,000.The differences are as follows, Sabre measures their stun gun with the assistance of the National Institute of Justice. They use microCoulombs (µC), not volts (again, which are a complete myth). For less than $25 this is a steal. You’d normally pay $25 at least just for the stun gun!Anyways, I researched the pepper spray as well.These words from Johnny Knoxville pretty much sum up the quality of this pepper spray...“But the most pain (I ever felt on Jackass) was probably from getting sprayed with SABRE Red pepper spray smack dab in the eyes. Excruciating pain for at least 20 minutes. Bought these for several family members. This set affords perceived & real security for self protection. I planned to get only stun guns, but the bear spray is a value added protection against dogs, coyotes, bears & dangerous people. Learning about tragedies involving wild & domesticated animal attacks; too many victims were helpless against these horrific & traumatizing assaults! Enjoying bear country with a means of defense is peace of mind & a lesson learned from nightmare encounters by other victims. This stun gun is loud & intimidating, it reminds me of someone cocking a shotgun. Both sounds are loud warnings & usually send anyone running, preventing violent encounters. Top quality & dependable products! They only protect you if you keep them accessible!
