This unit is sitting in a birdbath, located in sunny southern California. As this unit uses a battery to power the pump, it is important to know how this unit operates, as compared to other devices. During the first hour of direct sun, it appears the unit does not work. But this is the time the battery is charging up. Once it has a sufficient charge, the pump runs for the balance of the day. After the direct sun disappears, you have 30-45 min of operation from the battery, until it is discharged. The auto shutoff does work well, and it is important to keep the 2 metal pins attached to the battery box clean and free of debris, as this is the sensor that detects if it is sitting in water. When you attach the spray heads, the water shoots up about 1.5 feet, which is plenty. There are similar looking units out there, but I chose this one because of the auto sensor. It will prevent burnout of the pump by shutting it off when the water level falls too low..

I received the Skywee solar fountain pump today and it started working right after I put it in the bird bath. The day turned cloudy and the fountain kept going and then slowed down. There was probably not enough sun today to fully charge the back up solar battery but I am pleased with its performance so far.

The product runs periodically even in the sun. The filter gets closed clogged daily but is easy to clean. For a standard bird bath I have to use the short spray or it goes out of the bath. For the price it’s fine

This product never worked and is complete junk. If you want to lose you money, buy this item.

Works very well in plenty of sunshine

Only had it for 2 months but it works as advertised. Birds love the moving water and I’m getting more bird visits than ever.
