Quiet, efficient, and keeps our office air fresh and comfortable
We added the Honeywell 25-pint dehumidifier to our office to combat that damp, musty feeling that can build up in Florida’s humidity, and it’s made a noticeable difference within days. The air feels fresher, papers and electronics don’t feel clammy, and even the carpet seems to stay cleaner and drier. The unit runs quietly enough that it doesn’t disturb phone calls or meetings, and the digital controls are straightforward to use. The water tank is easy to remove and empty, but it also has a continuous drain option, which is a big plus for long-term operation. For a mid-size office space, the 25-pint capacity is a perfect balance — it keeps humidity in check without taking up too much floor space. Pros: Quiet operation, efficient moisture removal, easy-to-use controls, continuous drain option Cons: Tank needs frequent emptying if not using the drain hose If your workplace struggles with excess humidity, this Honeywell dehumidifier is a reliable, low-maintenance way to make the environment healthier and more comfortable.

Really Brought Down the Humidity! -- And Then Turned Into Junk
This machine performs beautifully and seems to be very well made! We live in the South, so heat and humidity are a reality in the summer. I was impressed with how well it brought down the humidity in the house, so much so that we had to raise the temperature on the AC because with the drier house it was becoming too chilly. I'm also impressed with the functionality of the pump. I had my doubts, but it does a great job of pumping the water out and up about four feet into a sink. We don't have a floor drain, so that pump was a key piece of why this particular unit was purchased. It does make some noise, but nothing intrusive. It's mostly just a low hum. After a couple of days we no longer even heard it. I'm also very pleased with how well the Honeywell app works. It provides the same functionality that the control panel offers, but lets me manage the machine from anywhere--especially useful if we're out of town. All in all, an exceptional dehumidifier! Edit December 18, 2025. Yes, this dehumidifier started off really well. It performed as I said above. Then it didn't. Total failure of the unit. Absolutely nothing coming out of it. So, I attempted to get it serviced by Honeywell. Nope, this product seems to have been licensed by another company, JMATek, and it was just the Honeywell name on it. It had passed the time for Amazon to replace it, so I was stuck dealing with the company that owned it. Two weeks of emails and pictures to them (even though several people had the exact same experience). No offer to replace it because it was "out of stock." Then the final jab: It will be six to eight weeks before I get my check. Seriously?! I doubt I'll ever buy another Honeywell product, and I certainly won't get anything that was made by the company that apparently built this, JMATek. What a zoo.

Easy to set up and use with the drain hose configuration
This dehumidifier works well at reducing humidity, eliminating conditions where mold can grow, and it easy to use in the hose configuration, but also works well to move around. Be aware that it's seems to be best suited for unoccupied spaces, as it can be loud. I also need to see if I can adjust the settings, as it will also make the space it occupies in an otherwise cool basement hot during the summer (I would rather it shut off sooner once the humidity is at a reasonable level). I moved the device from my mechanical room to a basement bathroom shower when I was getting the humidity under control, and it was easy to move, but be aware the hose will hold a lot of water that will drain out unexpectedly when moving if you don't empty it first. I learned I need to tilt the unit back to clear the hose before moving. I also used the bucket setup, and it was easy to switch from hose to bucket. This worked well when I temporarily needed to operate the unit in a basement carpeted space to quickly reduce the humidity (mold had formed on a couple pillows left on the floor. Not good). As I mentioned above, I generally use the included hose to go into a floor drain. This configuration works well, and makes for a low maintenance, set-it-and-forget-it all summer, setup. My separate hygrometers show this unit works well, and I no longer have issues with mold or dampness in my basement.

Great customer service and warranty claim
This is a great dehumidifier. One of the features I like is the WiFi connectivity and the ability to program it to turn on and off at specific times each day using the Honeywell app. I've had this unit since Oct 2023 and was very happy with the performance during our Summer months in Houston when the humidity in the house can increase. The unit stopped working properly a couple of months ago due to a refrigerant leak. I contacted the dehumidifier reps at JMATEK and they were quick in setting me up with a warranty claim. They asked me to send them pictures of the error code, invoice, and setup in the room. Upon confirming the unit was not working properly they shipped a replacement unit to me.

Big Impact on Home Comfort
I've been running this for about 4 months now, as my A/C could not effectively remove an adequate amount of humidity in my home without needing to be run extra-cold. Putting it at a target of 50%, it quickly and easily dehumidifies my home and has drastically improved my comfort. I can now keep the A/C at a reasonable temperature and offset those savings into running this unit. I especially enjoy using Google Home to both automate and manually operate it from my phone or smart speakers. Outside of the initial compressor start up, the unit is fairly quiet (I keep it at the low setting and find it does a fine job) It needs to be emptied once a day and I'm impressed with it's ability to remove humidity. Overall I'm extremely happy with this unit, and the only question I have is long term durability. Assuming this unit lasts a reasonable amount of time I would consider it a great value for someone needing to dehumidify a smaller home or large room.

Avoid Honeywell - don't honor warranty
This unit (TPFIT50WK) died after 2 months of use. Purchased in April and nonfunctional by June. The dehumidifier has a 1-year manufacturer warranty which states that Honeywell will REPAIR it or REPLACE it during that time, for manufacturer defects. I also purchased an insurance policy through Amazon (i.e. ASURION 4 yr). I followed the directions for set-up. I followed the directions for operation, including how the unit was positioned for good airflow. It was being used in a finished basement. I got the dreaded E3 error. Clearly, this is a manufacturer defect. I called the company (JMATEK in the U.S.) and followed all of their instructions for troubleshooting. I emailed all of the photos that they wanted, and of course, proof of purchase. I have been in email communication with them several times to try to get the problem resolved to my satisfaction. They are not interested in satisfying this customer. They state that they do not have this unit in stock or any 50-pint unit, and so will not replace it. They state that they can not repair it. So much for the REPAIR or REPLACE warranty! Their only offer is either a) cut off the electrical cord at the point it exits the unit and send us a photo that has both the cut cord and the unit serial number in it; sign a legal document that we provide "to close the case"; and wait 4-6 weeks for a check by mail for the purchase amount or b) wait until the fall when we expect to have additional units in stock. Of course, now - the summer - is when I most desperately need a dehumidifier. They refuse a refund to my credit card or Amazon. They refuse a refund of the cost of the insurance policy. They refuse to send me a return authorization for shipping the dead unit back to them. (I will have to pay a fee to dispose of the dehumidifier locally, due to the refrigerant.) Their convenience and bottom line is all Honeywell cares about - not the customer.
