GownTown Womens 1950s Cape Collar Vintage Swing Stretchy Dresses

I recently purchased this costume and I couldn't be happier with my choice! It ran true to size, which made finding the perfect fit a breeze. The material is wonderfully stretchy, allowing for comfortable movement throughout the day. What's even better is that it looks exactly like the picture! I am very satisfied with my purchase and would highly recommend this costume to anyone looking for quality and style. Definitely worth the price.

The pale blue is so pretty - it’s matte and a perfect shade of “powder blue” if you ask me. The material is nice and thick - a heavy weight that breathes very well! I didn’t feel hot or weighed down at all, but all the same this is well-made and sturdy. The fit is incredibly flattering - just enough to give you an hourglass look without exposing any soft spots. I really loved this from the start. I actually think I might order in another color so I can have two!

This dress is exactly as described. VERY cute! I ordered the XXL hoping it would fit. I’ve gained a lot of weight in the last year and as someone who was previously able to wear non plus sized clothing, I’m now realizing the struggle is real. My height is 5’7” and weight is about 240 lb. Bust 42D. I will say, the dress mostly fits. Even though it’s stretchy, it’s just took snug on the breasts and belly for my taste. Looking at it in the mirror, it ‘looks’ nice, but my comfort is important above all else for me. I could see myself getting irritated. I do have to add the disclaimer that I bought these to wear as a nurses uniform, so again, comfort above all. If I was only wearing it to go out for dinner or to a party, it would be perfectly fine. Also, I was expecting it to hit below the knee slightly, but on me it hit right at the knee. All in all, having to return due to it not meeting the need of what I bought it for. Also, I had purchased 3 different colors so I could switch it up throughout the week, and they all looked exactly like the photos.

Bought the black with white collar, 3/4 length sleeves. I LOVE this dress! I had to get the XL to fit my bust; the large was too snug and material pulled. The XL felt much better, but a touch loose in waist. The material is polyester & spandex so it's an unusual material mix for me, but the weight of material is good and it really looks great, especially with a petticoat! I had tried on many expensive department store dresses for my company Christmas party and nothing worked, until I found this one. This dress was perfect! I felt beautiful and the price was really great! I honestly loved it so much I ordered the red/black one too. Which by the way is not a cherry apple red, it's a bit more burgundy/wine red, but it's really pretty.BUT WARNING: Color is not 100% colorfast. The white collar WILL TURN GREY!I saw online that it could be dry-cleaned so I thought that would solve the issue. My dry cleaner refused to touch it since it did not have a care label inside. So I handwashed in a tub, keeping the white collar out of the water. The water turned very black. I did this twice, then I tried to soak it in a mix of cold water & white vinegar (vinegar will set the color in yarn & prevent colors running so I tried it). Then I rinsed in cold water (still did not have the white collar in the water) and the water ran clear so I thought all was good. Put the whole dress in a hand wash and apparently there was still enough running black dye that it turned the collar a dingy grey. So SAD! But I love this dress so much I'm going to try again. Called Amazon and they said they would replace it. I'll just have to figure out how to launder this without getting the collar in the same water as the dress. This would be so much better if the collar actually detached for laundering. I took off one star for the collar/color run issues.

This dress was so flattering. And a lot of fun for my daughter to wear. The quality of the material and the construction of the dress was much better than expected. It was worn with a crinoline, also purchased from Amazon to give it a 50’s vibe. It’s not stretchy so keep that in mind if you need some room in the waist or chest. Runs a bit small in the chest but that worked really well for the fit we were looking for. Added an apron for a costume for a play. 5’4, 122 lbs,

I've been taking Swing Dance lessons these past 2 months, and LOVE it! So fun! Other women at the classes were wearing twirly dresses, and it looks so great when they do the spins and turns.I looked at a LOT of different possible swing era dresses (1940s, 1950s), and tried this one. It fits very comfortably, has plenty of stretch for all the fast movement in Swing Dance, and the styling is flattering and true to the era.Great buy! I'll buy more dresses from this company. Very happy

I cannot gush enough about this dress. It was perfect for an event that I attended. The fabric was nice and stretchy. The material was good quality. Great craftsmanship. The colors were vibrant and the dress HAS DEEP POCKETS!! The pockets were a bonus. I was able to store my fan, gloves & cell phone comfortably.I did order two different sizes (just in case) and I totally agree with all of the comments, for a nice fit; you can size down a size. IT STRETCHES!!!I would definitely recommend this vendor and this dress!!
