This was an expensive purchase and I thought i was out of my mind for doing it. Ive now purchased three of these for friends and family. The heat is adjustable, it will get so hot it hurts if you want it to. Like scary hot. Its the type of device made for adults before all these stupid warning labels that read warning fire maybe hot and cause burns. This belts heat setting is amazing. I hope they never change it. On its highest setting which I've never used you might be able to cook eggs with it. It will take around five minutes or less to get to temperature. Once it does it maintains it really well. I am a big guy. The largest size fits. The vibration setting is helpful. I honestly find it annoying because I wish it would stay on vibrating full time but there is no setting for that. It vibrates for say 3 seconds and then its off for 1 or 2. Then back on. There are 3 of these settings, setting one my guess is 1 second on 1 second off. The vibration is strong enough that you can feel it. I wouldn't think it would help with the pain but it does. The heat is best but the vibration just helps loosen it all up. If I had to come up with a complaint it would be that some days I wish the belt had twice or even three times the coverage because my back is so bad in many places I find myself using this on my lower back, then I have to move this to my middle back and then move it again to my upper back. Im quite tall. This item helps alot getting rid of my back pain. I use it several times a week. And sometimes several times a day. Its worth every penny.

I've purchased two of these UTK Heating Pad with Vibration Massage for Lower Back for loved ones that suffer from arthritis. That's how good these are. One has psoriatic arthritis, and the other is older and has arthritis and spine degeneration. I'm saying this so you can compare your issues with my purchase use and subsequent feedback and decide how it applies to you and your situation, which is what I did. This isn't my first UTK product, because the Infrared Heat is a game changer since it gets the heat deeper into the pain points. Yes these products are a bit expensive but not compared to some other Infrared solutions I've found. I'm on a budget, and I don't have room to throw money away on things that don't work. My experience with UTK products is that they are very effective where heat can be helpful in managing pain. The stones help hold, distribute, and push the heat deeper in a comforting way. The other UTK large heating pad products are absolutely awesome, but can be heavy for elderly hands depending on the size, and are not highly portable. This belt is a manageable weight and far more portable. It can easily fit in luggage for travel. The trade with the larger size is that it doesn't have quite the coverage as one of the big pads, but the coverage is still good. I love the fact that this product comes in the XL belt size to accommodate anyone, which has also meant it can be used in other ways like across the shoulders. I think the massager is a nice touch and worth the extra spend. You don't have to use it with the heat if you choose not to, but it does help with the soothing effect and it is nice to have. The massage function feels like a soft vibration, and when you are in pain it is just enough to get relief but not hurt from it. I've read some of the UTK reviews for other products that are negative. Other than feedback about defective product issues (which I have not experienced), I have to say this isn't necessarily a casual heating solution. In my house we see it more as a therapy tool, and we treat these UTK products with care - keeping them clean and put up when not in use. So far they have held up wonderfully with consistent use. When your day is rough it can help keep your pain from escalating. But you must be aware of how you are using it, because it can get very hot. For my loved ones, it provides non medicinal relief without side effects, and you can't put a price on that.

Vibration thing doesnt do anything for me but the heating (reason i bought it) works really well imo. Its a little pricey, but I like it ^_^ its comfortable and has a really good heat range, plus the cord is super long (can be a good or bad thing depending on the person, but I like it).

Waste of money. The heat was great but the massager just ok. Mine stopped working in less than 6 mos.
