Strong and easy to put together

I have assembled four 48" shelving units for my storage space. I considered heavier, welded, wire-mesh shelving for double the price. I'm happy to have chosen this product. The boxes arrived promptly by Fed-Ex without issues (domestic warehouse). One man can maneuver each box for unpacking. Packing is thoughtful and thorough. The finish is consistent and attractive. The posts are extruded for relatively lightweight strength. All units contained the correct hardware and instructions, which are concise and clear. I would suggest using a small socket for the nuts that attach the braces. Once assembled, the shelf supports are fairly easy to adjust to different heights. I never needed a rubber hammer. The flush shelves drop in place for added rigidity and provide about 23.5" overall depth. Note that the posts can be configured to accept shelf supports from two directions in order to string the units together. While this is not an industrial product, I found the interlocking assembly to be very capable in strength and stability. Perfect for my application. Customer service is quite responsive and on point. In conclusion, I consider this more than a niche solution, one that should have broad appeal to residential storage needs.

EDIT: the company reached out to me and we negotiated a partial refund in lieu of a return. Original review will be tweaked to be more fair in light of this.Do not buy. No matter how flimsy other reviews led you to believe it was, trust me, it's flimsier than you imagined. I didn't get two minutes into unboxing before I found sheet metal shelves with egregious bends in their corners. I started a return, only to find I'M liable for return shipping on this heavy package. Instead, I had to send the seller a bunch of pictures of my damage and settle for a partial refund.Assembly was possible, but the through bolts had a tough time fitting through both ends of the warped uprights. It would benefit the assembly process immensely if try would switch to square openings and carriage bolts. The end result is ugly from all the bent shelves. Oh well, it's just going in my equipment shed.Mind you, this "5000 lbs capacity" shelving unit is built from the same gage of sheet metal as a residential AC duct, so even an undamaged unit deserves to be returned on grounds of gross misrepresentation of the product.

I work in a factory and let me tell you this is put together and built the same exact way the shelving that holds 40,000lbs at work is! The shelves themselves are thin metal but we put several 3d printers on them and they are stable and very strong! I have not one complaint with this! It was a little complicated to put together at first but once you had one side down the other was so simple. If you're looking for a very heavy garage shelf maybe not this one just because of what the shelves actually are, sheet metal, but they also make shelves with heavy duty grates that would be perfect! Amazing size for exactly what I needed and I gotta say a great price!

Once assembled the shelves seem excellent BUT assembling them with the directions provided was very difficult & time consuming with 3 people doing the work. Directions should be MUCH clearer & I suggest written by a native English speaker. It would also be helpful if EACH piece had a color code ( up, down, inside, outside).

This item comes in many pieces. Material is mostely Roll formed steel . The shelves have a spot welded stiffner on the bottom. The unit assembled without any trouble using a Phillips screw driver supplied . However I had a problem with the diagonal braces on the end legs. When assembling the diagonal brace the end legs become Trapazoidal . I read the instructions several times and “counted holes” but nothing worked. I finally just used the bottom screws only and let the brace seat against the upper horizontal brace and put the bolt in the hole to keep the brace in place . The last picture shows the bottom shelf with steel wheels,brake drums,brake rotors stored and it seems to hold up ok . There are no provisions to bolt this unit to the floor but these can easily be made as there is holes available to fasten to . BH

My original review would have been either 1 or 2 stars because these are not at all as they are made out to be in the pictures or description.For starters, the uprights are not constructed like every other heavy duty shelving unit I've purchased around this price point. Instead you have to bolt them together and the result is an extremely flimsy upright that twists easily and never feels truly secure.The metal is FLIMSY. I mean, extremely flimsy. The photos show how it is comprised of multiple layers and it absolutely is not. It's paper thin sheet metal that has been powder coated to look more stout than it is.The shelves themselves are effectively useless and you can really only hold something that distributes its weight at the very edges of the shelf. Anything heavy you put in the middle will fold the shelf and make it unusable. It's going to take some plywood cut to dimension to make these usable.The idea of these things holding 5,000 lbs. is laughable and in my opinion, downright dangerous.I tried to return them, but the seller wanted to charge me return shipping. Then the seller offered me a 10% refund to keep them. Then the seller finally offered me a 35% refund to keep them which I accepted as I was tired of going back and forth and I'll reinforce them with plywood.I wouldn't buy them again. I think they're valued at about half of what they cost currently and I think it is irresponsible that the seller continues to sell them for this much.

So glad we got this. At first my Hamas was not sore but now he issues it for everything! It’s durable, heavy duty and goes together quickly. It’s could use stabilizers on the end, but it holds a lot of weight. Looks great to. It’s very functional for organizing out garage!
