Extra considerations for surface adhesion are needed, but worth it!
All of these new textured and etched buildplate surfaces are very cool and creative ways to add flair or professional look to your models. It’s always important to note the chemistry used in the surface material, as some materials can retain the nano-etched patterns better than other but have more conservative temperature limitations. Most of these are intended with common lower temperate materials like PLA. It’s very important to keep these nano etched plates very clean, with increased importance over the more traditional textured or smooth sheets. Adhesion is worse overall, but with proper consideration for the material and model shape you can mitigate these weaknesses and produce some stunning prints! One thing to note, the nano etched plates like this one are very striking and vibrant, but being extremely shaken and thin etched lines they can wear off very quickly from softer plastics. I purchased this and used it successfully with a PRUSA CoreOne, fitting perfectly inside with a bit of overhang on the front. While they have some functionality quirks, the price for these is very attractive and personally worth the extra fun!

Works good
Great colors and shapes. They do work fine, but to bad the effect does come off with time from the 3D prints.

Worth the money
Working like a charm it puts really cool holographic designs on the prints

Great, but add "brims" to your print
Love the effect. I had to add brims to outer edges for adhesion, more than usual to work. Very neat thing I can add to every print now.

This is PURE 3D Printer MAGIC!!!
I had played with the patterned build plates before. They will imprint a bunch of lines in different directions and make the surface look faceted. It is a cool affect, but it is pretty easy to see how it is working. THIS, on the other hand, is pure magic!!! The plate is very colorful with rainbow dots and stars. If you shine an intense light from a flashlight, the effect is even stronger. But who knew it could actually be transferred to the bottom surface of the 3D print!!! This works great! At first I thought that it did not do it, but then under the right angle, the part sparkled with rainbow dots and stars. I tried clear at first-- it was ok-- but a bit hard to see. I then tried black and the pattern was even easier to see. My first print was not that smooth, so I adjusted my build plate a little closer to get a better smear on the build plate and the next one came out looking EXACTLY like the build plate!!! I was amazed! I handed it to several of my coworkers and they were amazed as well. We put it under a microscope and could not see any clues as to how it was working. The stars and dots just appear to float on the surface of the plastic. One thing we heard was that if oil from your hands gets on the surface, the pattern can go away. But, a soft cloth with Isopropyl alcohol takes the oil away and the surface was to completely covered in rainbow dots again. Now I think that I need to find a bunch of cool things to print where the bottom surface is the display surface! So cool! Maybe a communicator shirt pin…. 1st picture is a clear print, 2nd picture is with black and the 3rd was a close-up. It is really hard to take a picture of just how really cool this looks. Hope this helps.

Does not stick
My experience with Bambu Lab P1S and Creality PETG: I could not get my print to stick. I tried all of the recommended settings from the seller, (which was pretty lackluster, to be honest. It only suggest swapping build plate settings between Smooth PEI/High Temp and Textured PEI plate). I also tried adjusting first layer settings (Speed, temp, cooling) as well as build plate settings (temp), and even plate glue per listing description.

Super cool
The item arrived well-packaged and on time. It performs exactly as advertised, with reliable quality and ease of use. I appreciate the attention to detail in the design. Overall, this is a dependable product that provides good value for the cost. Highly recommend.

Another "just works" novelty plate from IdeaFormer
PEY type plates are novelties, and a lot of them on the market just don't work: they don't have enough bed adhesion to be useful. This plate, like other IdeaFormer plates I've tried, works. It's well constructed, and my builds had no problem sticking to the PEY side. The star pattern is attractive; certainly it'll be a favorite with tween daughters. Why not five stars? Well, it'd be far better if it came with printed barcodes for the X1C... on the textured PEI side if nothing else. And for some reason, unlike other IdeaFormer plates, this one didn't come with the instruction sheet telling you the essentials: clean with dish soap and brush before use, use the "smooth PEI plate" preset in Bambu Studio/OrcaSlicer for the PEY side. That'd make it perfect. But if Amazon let me give 4.5 stars, I would. This is absolutely a good plate to buy. It gives you a nice novelty pattern AND a spare textured build plate. Recommended. UPDATE: Newer variants may come with stickers for the ArUco barcodes, but with no instructions for installing them in the right place. If they're not in exactly the right spot, the X1C won't register them. An improvement, but not enough of one to earn that star—if not factory-silkscreened, the code should include an installation template.

I purchased the variation that has the gold PEI sheet, and the Stary Night on the other side of the plate. After reading some of these reviews it seemed like it would be a good alternative to the OEM Bambu Labs plate. However, sadly, it is not. The stary night pattern part of the plate hardly transfers over to your print. I tried multiple different settings, but the overall transfer was weak and hard to see. The prints did stick, after ensuring that I had tweaked the correct print bed settings within Bambu Studio. The PEI sheet started off promising as I had no issues with adhesion and the prints did not lift. I was sure to follow proper print bed care, and cleaned it as the description of the product said. But after about 6 large prints I started having adhesion issues. Certain parts of the bed do not stick at all. Almost like a coating has been removed, but the plate itself looks brand new. I thought it might be dust, or oil from my hands after removing a print, so I deep cleaned the plate and heat set it before trying again. But the same issues in the same spot of the plate all over again. It doesn't matter what model I'm printing, or Filament as I've tried about 7 different rolls, from different brands and tweaked the settings within Bambu Studio near a million times. Nothing will stick. This is super disappointing as I was hoping to be one of the lucky few reviewers that had good luck with this product. I can't recommend buying this overall. After not even a month of owning this plate, with low print hours, it's already failed. Comparing this to the OEM Bambu Labs plate that lasted 14 months with THOUSANDS of hours of print time and proper care.

Save your money. Bought for a Christmas gift and my husband was so excited to use it. He tried multiple prints with his Bambu Lab A1. This plate had terrible adhesion, despite cleaning multiple times and playing with various settings and filaments for over 3 hours trying to get a successful print. Once the plate warmed up, it became super flimsy and felt very poor quality. On the two small things he was able to print (with many issues), the "holographic" pattern wiped off the object, leaving it shiny with no pattern. Retried the exact same prints on the original Bambu Lab build plate with no print issues. Sadly returning this product.

EDIT: After increasing the bed temp to 100C for printing PETG, finally something sticks to it. I've tried reducing speeds and everything according to previous reviews and what they say in the instructions, to no avail. Cleaned the plate, still not working. Speeds are slow as hell, still not working. The detection of plate is off and it's still not working. I'm unsure what to do at this point.

There is two sides one side it's like a Plaid shirt gone to a disco, the other it's like tripping on acid. Having printed many things with these two sides of the plate adds extra flair to a boring print. I used these to print up bezels for an arcade machine I've built using them for designs on a control panel even signs. These give that extra pop to your boring prints and adds a great rainbow effect. The Grid pattern has a 3d effect within the holographic effect, while the other side gives a holographic spinning wheel while you wobble around the printed item.

I just got them, they look great, i have used them a couple of times. I will update if they start to fall apart :)
