Great solution for iPad Pro (4th Gen)
I wanted a fast way to transfer photos from SD card to USB3 memory stick (as backup) and to view them on iPad Pro (4th Generation) while out on photography trips. Device worked really well out of the box, once I swapped the mounting adjusters. It is very strong and stable when connected, even with a keyboard case. I have not tried USBC output (for SSHD) or USBC power input for power pack, but I am sure they could be useful. My only gripe is the overly bright LED light on the front - fine for daytime but less helpful when lighting is low. Easy enough to turn over.

It’ll do.
I don’t like the two sliding rails required for the iPad Pro but can live with it. The biggest criticism is the brightness of the power led, it’s so distracting. So much so that I’ve turned the device around which means you can’t see the labels for each connection- again, not the end of the world but it’s the little things that make the big difference.

Works well for midi input
Seems to work pretty well I’m using it to plug in a midi keyboard.

Faulty, only worked once. Killed my iPad.
Neat little item, however, it would not work at all inserted the correct way up, it only worked when inverted and then it only worked once. Somewhat disappointing for a product that had potential. UPDATE: It turns out that this product killed my iPad Pro which has had to be sent off for repair. It had damaged the USB-C port and squashed some of the connector pads causing them to short together. A fairly common problem as I have since discovered when using 3rd party devices on iPads. It really is a gamble when using non Apple certified add-ons. So, by using one of these devices it has ended up costing £150 for a repair. Never again!

Not suitable for connecting an audio interface
I bought this adaptor hoping to use it with my iPod Pro, to help me connect my Focusrite 4i4 audio interface to GarageBand, as well as an external display monitor via the HDMI connector. Unfortunately, whilst the HDMI connector worked fine, the USB-C data port lead to the 4i4 not being recognised. Connecting the 4i4 directly to the iPad worked perfectly. I have already returned the adaptor to Amazon and will have to find another that does work.
