What diameter is the pole?

would this stand fit a laney pa amp ?

Do you mean a Laney speaker?. The unit will take up to 60kg weight. and will fit a speaker with a 35mm hole in the base.

Both stands are of an extremely high quality, but if your kit is heavy then the extra £7 buys you that extra stability and support. The legs on the GSS 200 really are more robust than the 100 and they sit well with heavier loads. Good speakers and amps cost money and the comparatively small difference in cost for the GSS-200 buys a lot of 'peace of mind'. Highly recommended.
