Edifier R1700BT Bookshelf Active Speakers with Bluetooth, RCA/AUX Input, EQ Control and Remote Control - Black

Bought these speakers as a secondary set based off of Zeos Pantera (Z reviews) falling in love with them. If you have seen the video, these actually match his description: Nice design, well built, really good dials with a satisfying bump as well as nice audio quality. They are surprisingly small, given how "big" the sound produced is, thanks to DSP they sound signature stays constant which is a big plus for all volumes of listening. Very warm overall, with superb mids and highs that add a sparkle without getting close to jarring (either way, easy fix with the bass and treble knobs). One critique which I and many others have experienced is that the bass can get overbearingly "boomy" which also means a lack of punch on the low end. This is the result of tuning and bass ports to compensate for the small 4" midrange drivers. There is an easy fix which is simply limiting the airflow through the bass ports by stuffing it with light to light-medium density foam. It does considerably reduce the boom and bring a bit of punch back (but by no way do the become punchy like studio monitors). The Bluetooth is acceptable, does have a noticeable lack of quality compared to the conventional audio jack; less lower end with slight reduction in the highs. Considering the build quality, sound, convenience and price. There is definitely no surprise why people claim this to be the "best bang for buck" powered speaker. I'm trying to think of possible alternatives to these but none come to mind unless you want to pay a lot more and have the preference for analytical and "dull" studio monitors. So yes, buy!

For the size, these two speakers deliver a rich, crisp, clear sound that feels "true". As many reviews mention, a bit too heavy on the bass, so you'll want to push that right down if you'd rather avoid those earthquake-like rumbles that shake your whole house every time there's a low frequency sound - unless you're into that sort of thing. I quite like feeling my heart being defibrillated during the battle scenes in Lord of the Rings, so this is perfect for my home cinema, but it won't be to everyone's taste. I love having the long cable between the two speakers, allowing me to place them at opposite sides of my 100 inch projector screen. The only slight disappointment is the remote control: very basic, quite unresponsive, but for this price I guess you can't expect too much, and I only ever use the remote to control the volume (you can't do much else with it anyway). If you are thinking about getting one of those soundbars, don't bother. These speakers deliver better sound than most budget soundbars, at a similar price - and you get a much more immersive experience because of the increased distance. One technical issue I experienced is to do with connecting to my PC: unless you keep sending constant signals from your media player (or YouTube, or whatever) to the speakers, the bluetooth connection cuts out and you start getting intermittent playback, which can only be fixed by resetting the connection. I suspect this is more to do with my computer than the speakers, as they don't do that with my phone, but I thought it might be worth mentioning. Overall, I definitely recommend these.

Firstly, very swift dispatch and delivery. Couldn't have asked for faster service. The only reason for giving 4 stars is that these weren't double boxed and so my box arrived with a decent sized tear in the side. Fortunately good protection on the inside so nothing was damaged. Now, don't let the size deceive you. These are small but they are certainly punchy. I've only been testing them out for a few days but I feel very happy so far. I have these plugged into the Pioneer PLX-500 turntable and the vocals are so clear and as I've already said, the bass packs a punch. I've played vinyl through these and done some Spotify streaming via Bluetooth which is incredibly easy to connect. I'm no expert but I feel these are good quality and affordable speakers.

I wanted to buy these speakers to match up with an internet radio hifi system. I couldn't find a supplier that would deliver to Northern Ireland, and almost gave up. I spoke to Fencom and they suggested I order similar speakers in black, which for reasons known to them, Amazon were able to deliver to my area. Fencom then substituted they set I wanted. Having suggested they may take three additional days to get to me I was amazed to receive them in two days from time of despatch. Amazing service worthy of 5 stars. The speakers are fab too and have made me revisit all my old cd's and music I love. Well worth the investment and great value. Way beyond my expectations. Thank you Fencom and Amazon.

After reading review upon review I took the plunge and purchased a set Edifier R1700BT bluetooth book shelf speakers, and I wasn't to be disappointed. They arrived in a well packaged box. My only moan was you can see from the box what is inside. The speakers were nicely packed within the box. I was surprised how easy set up was, which is good for me. Hooking up by bluetooth is so easy and I hooked them up by the cables supplied to my turntable. Wow what a sound. A nice sound with great deep bass notes. These are really nice sounding and powerful speakers. I'm impressed already.

A bit smaller than I was expecting but they did not disappoint! Fantastically clear with great sound quality, the bass and treble controls means you can tune the music to how you like and can easily fill medium to large rooms with ease. The only thing that is annoying is the volume resets when you turn them off, so remember to turn them down before playing anything late evening - on the other end of the scale they can do very loud.

Excellent sound quality, great alongside Audio Technica ATLP120XUSB, great sound, easy to set and connect to Bluetooth, purchased mainly to use for vinyl playback. Looks great, solidly built, however arrived packaged dusty quality control needs improving on despatch, otherwise great purchase, remote control a little small, very easily misplaced..

Good quality, well-designed speakers that are easy to set up and sound and look great. The remote control is nonsense though but it doesn't really matter.
