CANADA WEATHER GEAR Men's Winter Jacket – Heavyweight Puffer Jacket – Casual Coat for Men (M-XXL)

The Canada Weather Gear is my go-to coat for very cold or bad weather. I just walked to and from the fitness center when it was snowing and had a feels like temperature of 17 F. I felt comfortably warm for the walk to the point that I wasn't even aware that it was cold. :-) When there is a strong breeze, the jacket zips up to where my chin and mouth are covered. On very windy days, I usually wear a knit cap under the hood since the wind can infiltarate the hood if it is strong enough, and I don't want to tighten it enough to keep all wind out. I have a lighter puffer jacket for weather down to the 40s and even into the mid 30s with layering. But on days like today, Canada Weather Gear is the best.

The jacket literature repeatedly mentioned that it was made from "synthetic duck fiber." It was manufactured and tested to perform at the same level as real duck down, but no ducks were harmed in the production of this jacket. You wouldn't know it wearing it. It is a warm, lightweight, flexible jacket. If you live in cold weather with cold winters, this is a jacket you should look at. It is a fraction of the price of other jackets of similar construction and quality, but it is as good if not better.If I had any complaints it would be the zipper. The jacket is so puffy the zipper easily gets stuck midway up or down. As long as you are aware of this you can compensate by stiffening the pathway of the zipper. But to zip it up with one hand easily ... It's not that easy. You need Two hands. Other than that I am very happy.

I am impressed at how well this jacket works even in temps below zero F. The flip side is that it is too warm for me to wear at temps above 50 F. Pockets are very generous in size and the design seems to be by people who understand how to design outdoor clothing. I'm actually impressed.

I ordered this coat and right off the bat the zipper stuck in three places and didn’t want to go up or down so I got a replacement coat. Same thing and same areas, the zipper stuck. I thought maybe because it’s new and the way it was packaged is why the zipper stuck. I wore it around before the cold temps hit but when it got cold I realized that there was no padding in the shoulders or neck. A design flaw for sure because the padding that was up on the shoulders settled downward. There’s no way to try and fluff up the filling so it’s definitely not warm. The first time I washed it I followed the instructions. The inside seam from the armpit to the bottom tore open. Filling went everywhere. It looks warm but it’s made poorly from the zipper problem to threads sticking out all over the outside to the inside ripping open and filling falling out everywhere to the lack of shoulder padding and warmth (before it was washed). I am gentle with my clothes so this coat X2 is garbage. It has a nice look to it and it says it’s warm but this is my experience with these coats.
