I spent most of my life working for the local telephone company selling wide area networks to large commercial customers but the products we used were far to expensive for home use.. I have a lot of devices on my network and I just could not find a way to get the wireless connectivity I wanted especially in exterior locations.. I tried several different products, I put antennas on my roof, and was thinking of calling in one of the techs I used to work with to help me get things working the way I wanted them to.. The I saw an ad for the ERRO 7 and decided to give it a try and it works perfectly.. I had to put in 6 extenders with one outdoors and everything now works the way I want it to...I only have a 2200 square foot home on a quarter acre lot but the house is masonry and my neighbors all have competing networks... Oh I almost forgot, the support is great, they are from the Philippines and English is their second language but they know what they are doing and they stay with you when you have questions or problems..

I bought and returned one of these unit. I’m sure it’s a great product and I regret not being able to keep it. I rated it as a 5 as all of the other eero devices I have are excellent. The issue for me was the round “junction box” part of the way in the long, heavy power cord. I needed to mount the router on a stucco wall. The “junction box” (and excess power cord) was going to have to be hidden in some sort of weather proof box. Given its location that would have been very unsightly. As big and heavy as the actual router is, it would seem easy to put this “junction box” internal to the router body. None of this was shown in the online product documentation. I wanted to share this with you in case you have a similar location for mounting.

Works great in our backyard which is .388 of an acre. I have the eero 6 pro mesh throughout the house, but I wasn’t getting very good Wi-Fi outside. After installing this, it was an immediate improvement comparable to sitting in my living room. Cost wise it’s fairly expensive but worth it if you spend a lot of time outside.

My initial review was 1 star. Here’s what has happened since that rating which made me up it to a 4 star. After eero support reached out, I was very impressed with their support. I personally did not see a benefit to the outdoor area WiFi with just plugging the eero outdoor in. As the support explained, plugging it in really just replicates the speed you already have outside and will likely be less. However, where you will get a benefit is if you plug into an Ethernet cable and direct wire to your router. This makes a big difference. You will need a POE adapter to get power over Ethernet but this is a small cost of less than $40. Speeds are now much improved outside and I’m able to run an outdoor TV wirelessly connected. Would recommend this product if you can directly connect to your router.

Installation was very simple and quick - you will need a cordless (easier) drill, bits, a Philips head driver, an insert for the Ethernet cable (through the wall - neater), a ladder (mount height, minimum 7’ - maximum 16’) and some caulk (to weatherproof the hole). Connected to the network and updated instantly.

Every thing Eero stated this would allow you to have enternet outside my home.I went through all the requirements of setup as per instructions.I took the the time to try more than 3 different locations outside my home.1: I had only had 2 items that showed that was connected to eero outside side unit.2: different location nothing showed as being connected.3: different location nothing showed as being connected to the eero unit.As much as I wanted this unit to solve my connection problem for my outside POE outside security cameras, which I have 5 different security cameras.I even allow myself keeping the unit for several extra days from the time I received it until I returned the eero unit to Amazon.I have my doubts that Eero did enough testing before they released the unit to be purchased.What I thought they would have considered is the outside unit would have extra places where you could connect other devices directly into the outside unit.I have the Eero pro Max 7 installed inside my home as well as eero pro 6e units throughout my home because of the square footage of my house as well my home is 3 story home.I think they should also designed the eero outside unit should had the option of just a power supply and not a RJ54 cable power connection.If the developer decides to go back to the drawing board and create the outside unit in many features and options as the Eero pro Max 7 has, then I believe customers will be likely purchase this outside unit.I placed the pre-order and October 23, 2024.I returned the item before the 21 first of November 2024, and now Eero is just now sending me an email saying that I should receive my refund by December 13th 2024.It didn't take Eero that long to withdraw the funds for my bank to pay for it before it was shipped.And I had been giving 3 different dates for the refund. They received the return by the 29th of November.Now it takes eero according to my work days, it right at 13 days to receive my refund

Very quick and easy to setup and integrate with existing Eero system. Really made a difference in extending my coverage. I was able to achieve my goal to increase signal strength to my various exterior cameras along the back of my house. Very happy with purchase.

We live in south Florida and sit outside the patio deck next to the screen enclosed pool. We just installed hurricane impact windows ( Thick Glass ) as it doesn’t allow the WiFi signal outside. So, we installed an eero outdoor router to enhanced signal. Man, this is the answer for the problem. It provided the maximum signal. Our guest love it.
