Easiest way to add smoky flavor when using your gas grill
I’ve been using smoker chips and wood chunks in my gas grill for years. The grill manufactures even sell metal trays that are supposed to heat up and allow the wood and chips to smoke. This can take a long time, and if you’re in a hurry and simply place the wood chunks on the grill grates, it creates a mess inside the grill.I read about smoker tubes in a New York Times article by Sam Sifton and decided to investigate. On the strength of other ratings, I purchased the Mycritee Hexagonal Pellet Smoker Tube. Where has this thing been? It is very easy to use and can be started before you ignite the propane burners, so you don’t waste propane trying to create smoke. Clean-up is a breeze. To me, the tube seems best suited for cold smoking, or smoking while grilling. It doesn’t generate enough heat to smoke a brisket or a rack of ribs for 6-8 hours. You’ll need a different heat source for that. Its great, however, for adding smoky flavor to steaks, chops, burgers, seafood, veggies, and cheese (obviously in a cold grill). I’ve even experimented with smoking Scotch (again in a cold grill). Its obviously not like drinking your favorite peaty Islay, but it improved the everyday stuff.I clean my grill, let it cool, start the smoker tube, and pre-smoke my food for half an hour while it comes to room temperature. Next, I light the grill, re-position the food, and let the food continue to smoke while it cooks. When the daily temperatures cool down, I’ll experiment more with cold smoking. Its still a bit warm in Texas for that in July and August.

I Take Thee Mycritee Pellet Smoked Porterhouse Pork Chop With This Beautiful Smoke Ring
I smoke it to the east, and I smoke it to the west, and I smoke it to the ribs that I love the best, I be smokin'. For those of you who can remember the lyrics to Clarence Carter's hit song, I did a little spin on it. I have to admit that I'm very impressed with this pellet smoker. Followed the instructions & had continuous steady flowing smoke. Here's some info that may be of some help: I used Jack Daniels pellets & they put out an ample amount of smoke. When I filled the tube all the way to the top, I lit the pellets on the open end using a torch so they would start burning. I left the tube upright in my grill while I cleaned out my Masterbuilt MWS 255S XL 40 pellet smoker. My wife asked if the tube had to be upright in order for the pellets to properly burn or could the tube be laid on a rack & then ignited while in the smoker. My belief is that either method would work as long as you allow the proper burn time, which I allowed 8 - 10 minutes, so the pellets would continually smolder. Once you blow the flame out, the pellets should be on autopilot. Even with using a large pellet smoker that can be set for smoking cycles, this tube really takes the smoke flavor to another savor level. Beautiful smoke ring for the meats and the smoked green beans...yes green beans. If you haven't been smokin' your green beans topped with hickory flavored sea salt, or corn for that matter, you've been missing out on all sorts of scrumptiousness. I didn't experience any problems such as limited or restricted air flow that would interrupt or stop the pellets from burning. So far the pellets have outlasted the cooking time for all the dishes we have smoked. My wife said to give the pellet tube 5 stars because it has yielded the best taste that our smoker has produced...hands down. I should mention that the pellet tube is well constructed & sturdy. Should be able to get several several uses from it & it comes with a nice bristle brush to clean out the ashes left from the pellets. Nice package & very courteous service if you have any questions. Smoke 'em if you got 'em folks. Time for some smokey goodness.

This quickly became an indispensable addition to my smoking arsenal...
The media could not be loaded. If you own a pellet smoker and just aren't pulling the flavors you want, if you're thinking about cold smoking, if you just love to punch up that smoky flavor or want to blend woods, this product will be the best investment you made all year! I nearly sold my pellet smoker since it just wasn't doing it for me. I looked through lots of forums to find out if it was just my brand pellet smoker (CharGrill) but it had to do with two things: my temperature and my smoke level. I read that someone tried this product and loved it. I thought I would give it a try. My brisket finally got a bark! My meats had so much flavor and in addition, I was able to add some maple to my hickory - some apple wood to my oak! This quickly became an indispensable addition to my smoking arsenal. I used it to win competitions. I use it in my pellet smoker as well as in my stick-burner! This product has the additional benefit of making the neighborhood smell great. I would sincerely recommend this product to anyone who smokes or barbecues their own food. You can also cold smoke with it. It lasts roughly 4 hours per filling. You can experiment with wood blends in the tube or use one wood as your heat source and another in the tube. The possibilities are endless. To use it, you simply fill with pellets, ignite with a flame (preferably a small torch) then let the flame burn for roughly 10 minutes. Blow out the flame like a birthday candle and your wish for flavorful bbq will come true!

Great Smoker BBQ product
This is a very fine product totally works as advertised. Comes with cleaning brush and storage sleeve. I would buy this again. I would give this a five star if it had a lid to close the top of the tube. It seems like all the products of this nature do not have a lid or top. Again GREAT product and excellent price
