Foldaway Packable Tote Sling Bag

This is the perfect bag when you happen to buy while traveling. Because it folds compactly in your carryon luggage, it’s easy to throw in as you pack without taking up space. But, unfolding it reveals a great shopping tote with great capacity for storage. It zips closed for safety and security with pockets inside. On my way home from Scotland/Liverpool, London, I was able to fit tea, paintings, tea cakes,wraps and scarves into the bag, check my carry on, and use this with my backpack home. I read that someone couldn’t fold it back to its original size, but following the instructions, I had no problem. It’s ready for my next international trip.

The fabric is sturdier than expected and not too lightweight. Construction seems durable with binding on all seams and washable. The pocket to make it pack-able is attached to the interior and can be used as a storage pocket. Outside pockets are well placed and sized for cell phone, wallet, etc. Straps are the right length to have on my shoulder with the bag under my arm.

I wish this bag had a strap that I could put on my luggage handle. Instead sometimes it is sliding left/right from the handle. I wish the bag could properly fold small. Nonetheless It has come in very handy on my trips abroad. I use it as a carry one and it holds practically everything I throw in there! The material is very strong and appears to be washable.

I was eyeing a handsome $70 bag recommended on NY Magazine. But knew I would overpack as well as overpay. This Samsonite for its perfect weight, size and value, so I DIY'd it. First, I wanted more structure for carrying my books. I cut rectangular scraps in thick polyester felt from a defunct Ikea organizer, stitching them to sides and bottom on a Singer home sewing machine. Second, i wanted a shoulder strap, repurposing one from a worn-out Travelon bag. I ran lengths of nylon webbing along the outside, with the felt insides lending extra strength. Love that the bag fits right under the seat ahead. It helped me take a 10-day trip to a very cold climate with just this "personal item" bag and a large backpack carryon, wearing my snow coat. Recommend this baby.

Was looking for a reasonably sized, nondescript packable tote bag with a top zipper for airline travel. Something to put some of the stuff I bought and the few things I'll need on the plane, that won't call attention to itself while boarding. This is it. Folds down into a fairly flat pack that disappears in my travel backpack. If I need it, great. If not, I barely notice it. The deep purple/blue color is nice. The external pockets are good. The only real downside is that the straps are a bit short, but still usable. Definitely a worthy purchase!

Very well made. But straps are too short to be comfortable to carry on shoulders. Returned.

I bought this tote for a European vacation where I planned on buying souvenirs. It was so perfect. Roomy and well made. Loved that it folds flat! Great product!

Although I haven't used the bag yet, it's what I was looking for. I believe it will last well. It seems sturdy and seams seem to be strong. I think it will have some water resistance. It folds easily. I bought it to keep in my suitcase in case I have items I purchase and don't have room to bring them home. Then I will use this as a carry on. My only complaint, as others have noted, is that the straps are rather short. They certainly won't work as over the shoulder straps. But they will work as straps to carry the bag in your hand or to attach the bag to your suitcase such as in the airport. A little overpriced but happy with the purchase.
