I rarely write reviews, but Paula’s Choice Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliant truly deserves the hype. From the very first use, I noticed a real difference in my skin’s texture, it felt smoother, looked more refined, and my pores appeared smaller almost immediately. Within days, the overall clarity and brightness of my skin had visibly improved.It absorbs quickly, doesn’t feel greasy or heavy, and layers well with the rest of my skincare routine. I also appreciate how gentle it is — no burning or irritation, even with regular use. It’s become a staple in my routine and one of the few products I genuinely look forward to using.If you’re dealing with uneven texture, clogged pores, or dullness, this is absolutely worth trying. This stuff works fast. Clears up blackheads, tightens pores, and evens skin tone. Great for oily and acne-prone skin. A little goes a long way, and it doesn’t dry you out. Holy grail status.

Appearance of my pores instantly reduce and it seems to help with blackheads ,white hands and Appearance of hair follicles which is exactly what I want but to note that it Works when you use it so in other words if you don't use it those results won't be there so to me it's a temporary fix . ITS VERY STRONG I have sensitive dehydrated oily skin , so I think it's best to use this product once a week if you have skin like mine; you may think you can handle more but don't do it . What I was disappointed about this product is that it leave back oily residue like seriously which makes me not want to repurchase be that's a big deal for me but it's a amazing treatment so it a product to consider to be apart of your skin care routine especially for emergency.

Here’s what my skin was. Sensitive, combination, prone to rashes, breakouts, enlarged pores. No filters in any of these photos. The first two, I was too embarrassed to show my whole face. The second two, after about two weeks of using this. Rashes gone, skin soft, pores shrunk. It’s a water based and you only need a few drops. But even with iPhone camera (which enhances every blemish), I’m proud to go out without makeup. It’s non oily, I don’t use moisturizer or any serum over it. I bought the travel size to give it a shot, and I’m soooo grateful that I did. Will be purchasing the full size!! Noticed a difference after the first use.

My sister shared her with me and I had to get my own. Works so well, especially for the occasional blemish I get at 45 years old. Helps the pores and just overall love it and how my skin looks.

I'm sure this is a good product for some skin types, but I've tried on multiple occasions to use this product and it makes me break out and leaves a little bit of oily residue overnight. I have oily-mixed skin type and prone to congestion. I've tried to use in the past but thought it wasn't working with other products that I use to use and that were new to my skin. For a few years now, though, I only use Youth to the People green tea cleanser and CeraVe PM Facial Moisturizing lotion at night and then rinse my face in the morning. I tried using the bha liquid exfoliant after my wash at the end of the day and before moisturizing. At first, every other day for two weeks and then every day after that for 2 more weeks. Before use, my skin was mostly clear with the exception of a few points of clogged pores. I was hoping for the exfoliation to smooth out my skin to get the last bit of congestion my skin is prone to, but unfortunately, I normally have breakouts and zits after continuous use of this product. My skin begins to breakout within days of use. I've heard of people loving this product but like all skincare products it just depends on if your skin reacts positively or not. I'd suggest getting the trial size and test it out for 4-6 weeks before getting the larger bottle, in case your skin is sensitive and reactive like mine.

I first tried this product three years ago, when I was new to skincare. I didn’t like it when I first tried it, and ended up returning the tiny bottle because I was breaking out everywhere - it was “making my skin worse”. Back then, I was using castile soap on my face and never using moisturizer, thinking that was the answer to oil control. Paula’s BHA was just too intense at the time.I decided to give it another try now that I have a proper skincare routine with some intense actives. I wanted to address closed comedones that were creating texture on my otherwise decent skin. The first week was much like my experience three years ago - new bumps were popping up, and I felt like I took a step backward. I’m glad I didn’t give up though, because those closed comedones that wouldn’t go away for months, have gone away. The initial purging cleared up much faster than my breakouts usually do. I haven’t had a new bump since my skin started to settle down, and my texture is more refined than it has been in YEARS. My goal is to be able to go without makeup. I currently spot conceal old hyperpigmented scars, and those have been able to fade without new dark spots forming.I use it once a day in the AM, shaking a quarter sized amount into my palm and spreading it around. The travel bottle is lasting a surprisingly long time. I’ll be getting the biggest bottle next.Update:My recent order of this product smells and feels totally different from the last. My last order had strong smell and oily feel, where my recent order has no scent and does not leave oily residue. The font on the packaging is also different. The smell is so distinctly different between the two bottles that I can’t help but feel like something is off with the product. This stuff is too expensive to buy from Amazon. Going to purchase directly from Paula next time.
