This little statue may be kitschy, but it hits all the right feels, combining Santa, happy feral cats, snow, and magical lighting. The lights are operated by 3 AA batteries and a simple on / off switch on the bottom. Note, the plate covering the cavity to insert the batteries is secured with one teeny tiny screw. You'll need a small Phillips screwdriver to get if off so you can put in the batteries. I decided it was too much trouble to reinsert this tiny screw every time, so I'm leaving the screw off going forward. That said, as a cat person, I am totally loving this little lighted statue for Christmas ambiance. If it appeals to you, it's worth it.

I love the idea that my purchase goes towards the feeding of cats. Although the piece is cute, I am a little disappointed with the design. It looks like the pieces were hot glued on. Despite the proper packaging, this item arrived with the Santa completely unglued from the base. Thankfully, it was still operational and I'll be able to gorilla glue back in place.It requires two AA batteries which are not included.It was a hassle putting batteries in because the battery cover has a teeny tiny eyeglass screw that you have to remove to insert the batteries. I did not have a screwdriver tiny enough but I was able to use a knife, it was just time consuming due to it's small size. ALSO, that screw is not even necessary to keep the battery cover in place. I'm not sure what they were thinking when they placed that tiny screw there.It's a little smaller than I expected but super cute for any cat lover.
