My husband has been driving with a broken mirror for 2 years after a collision with a deer. We were quoted $1000 to replace this thing and he passed. The mirror itself was still intact but the clips that held it in were broken so he just taped it up. The mirror finally fell out and he was just going to drive without one, which was fine with him but not with me when I have to drive it. I found a youtube video showing exactly how to replace it from TRQ called How to replace side mirrors 2011-2018 Ram 1500 from 2024. Found this replacement and it took us 20 minutes to swap it out. What a scam that the body shop wanted $1000 for something with parts & labor should have been $300. It looks great! Buy yourself a set of auto body puller tools. (or whatever they're called!) We had them already and I think without them it would be doable but take longer. Our truck is a 2017 Ram 1500 Laramie.

Model has to be absolutely correct. Order by Vin# is the best way. The mirror I ordered the wiring is not compatible with my model. When I placed my order I indicated my model and was affirmed it would work. I did not.

Fits perfectly looks identical to the OEM mirror. The mirror has about the same range of adjustment up/down in/out but lacks the auto dimming feature which I never liked anyway but some may miss it. Its power folding and has a heated element that works well. From the outside it’s impossible to tell it’s not OEM. With the stereo cranked to high volume the mirror will vibrate but no more than the OEM unit. After a week of firmly closing the door the adjustment was still as I left it meaning the mirror doesn’t move from closing the door. I have a Dasbecan led taillight assembly I installed a year ago which is still working. The leds are a brighter vs the 9 year old OEM unit it replaced which is expected. Both purchases cost a fraction of what the dealer charges and are pretty close in quality. Bought the Dasbecan rear view camera and after a couple of days deemed it useless because the image is washed out the lines do not match up with where the truck is going and can’t be defeated. The camera lines are showing it’s clear but a quick check of the mirror confirms you will hit that object. I replaced it with a Dorman which works perfectly and is equal to the OEM. Lines are correctly aligned with the front wheels and true to the truck’s trajectory as well as being defeatable. Camera OEM $800 Dorman $180 Dasbecan $49. The taillight assembly and mirror are priced in a similar fashion. In conclusion the mirror is a phenomenal value even though it lacks the auto dimming feature.
