This is the most amazing laundry stain fighter I have ever used. I have been using it for years! It takes out grease, oil, lipstick and stubborn stains set in by the dryer. The only downside is it does have a bit of an odor. Also works great to remove sticker residue.

How great it works on getting rid of grease and stains on clothing!

In a fit of excitement, my German Shepherd Dogzilla wiped my coffee table clean, laying waste to everything on it—including a three wick candle that had been burning for a few hours so had a healthy 2 inch pool of melted wax, ready for launch. The fluid projectiles sprayed all over my finished hardwood floors, covering a good 30 ft.² of collateral damage. I freaked out, grabbed my plastic scraper that I was on baking pans (it looks like a credit card) and got busy gently scraping up as much wax as I could. Then I ordered this stuff. Hadn’t seen it in years, but I remembered it as a kid— it worked on bubblegum (that’s another story). Needless to say De-Solv-it did not disappoint! Working in sections, I sprayed it on my floor, waited 30 seconds, got on my hands and knees, lightly scrubbed with some old towels, then went back over the entire area with Bona to clean up the De-Solv-It because it is a bit oily. Voila! Half an hour’s worth of effort and my floors are as good as new—no damage done by either the wax or the cleaner!

This is amazing at taking out grease stains. It is the only thing I have found to save our clothes. Smell is a little strong but it works, sometimes I rewash after getting the stain out. A little goes a long way. Works great!

Having several pine trees on my property, i've tried everything to remove the sap on my skin from the pine cones and needles. Then I found an old bottle of desolvit and, presto, instant removal with no stinging or redness. of course In the past I have used it for many other types of residue with excellent results,so not wanting to run out I ordered another bottle. It is a convenient spray now and very affordable and nicely scented.

I have used a lot of orange-oil-based products over the years, but this is the best! It was also one of the first. Unlike Goo Gone and similar products, this removes hard-to-clean stuff from all surfaces without leaving a thick, oily residue. With this handy spray I have gotten rid of ink and paint, grease and oil, sticker residue, and even tar from clothing, plastic, glass, metal, etc. And then I wash it away with dish soap or wipe it with paper towel. De-Solv-it doesn’t damage what it’s applied to like alcohol and other cleaners. It’s not harmful to your skin or lungs or the environment. The spray bottle makes it easy to apply directly to what you need to get rid of without a lot of waste. I use it mostly in my laundry room and kitchen, but also in the garage and at work. About my only complaint is the price and availability of this product. What I used to be able to get for $5 or less at my local grocery or department store is now only found online for more than twice as much. I wish it were cheaper and more accessible.

My choice when it comes to removing sticky or gummy residue. Price has substantially increased in last few years….

I discovered De-Solv-It years ago and find it is the only product that takes out grease spots. The problem with it is the odor; I find it lingers unless you use extra detergent in the load and it smells like a chemical. Other reviewers loved the fragrance; I just put up with it because the product works. It is hard to find in stores. Also, the nozzle handle leaks badly and that is a huge drawback. I'm hoping they've addressed that problem with this new bottle. It's unopened as yet.
