Panasonic PV-V4021 4-Head VCR (1999 Model)

I am 76 years old and found my old vhs tapes of family recordings. I wanted to make digital copies of these tapes to leave for my 19 year old granddaughter as my late son (her father) is on these tapes. He passed when she was only 4.But alas, I didnt have a vcr anymore and wanted to copy these movies myself. No one I knew had one either so I looked to my old friend Amazon hoping to find a decent and affordable used one. AND I DID !Most vcr's are missing the remote or have other problems. Well I'm here to say I hit the jackpot with this one. When I opened the box I was greeted by a bundle of bubble wrap surrounding a vcr that looked brand new. Not a scratch or dent. No visible sign of wear. A brand new universal remote was in original store packaging. All wires were also included.I couldn't wait to try it. It plays beautifully. All functions. Ff. Rew etc work perfectly. I gave it 5 stars as I could not find one fault with this item.Of course I got emotional in seeing these 30 year old tapes again.I also bought a vhs capturing system and will copy all tapes on flash drives.I'm so happy that I can leave them to my family when I kick the bucket one day, lol.

Using it to copy old videos to my PC. Works fine. Only issue I had was the connectors were not shown by the seller. Has only type-F TV connector, one RCA video-out and one RCA audio-out (i.e., not stereo). No s-video or any digital video. Don't expect the best quality, but for what I'm doing it works. However just one more photo of the rear of the unit would have been helpful. If I'd have known it was a type-F I'd have known it needed an adapter ($30 from Amazon).

VCR works perfectly well packed and in good condition love it

I have been wanting to copy my VHS tapes to DVD's and thought this unit would be what I needed and by some of the reviews. I copied two tapes and it stopped working. Very disappointing for the money I paid. It was returned.

I bought this to watch VHS cassettes found in antique stores, and so far, (three-four months) it has played and rewound as it should.So, I am happy. I only hope it lasts the long term, because some of these films are not available on DVD, or are too expensive for over-50 year old B rate films, but they are worth a dollar or three in the used video sections of stores.

The picture quality is fairly decent but the sound appears to change quality as it is positioned or repositioned. It’s a shame they don’t make VCRs anymore. I would have like to have gotten my uncle a new one.
