Tiny Adapter, Big Performance!
I recently picked up the Mercusys MA530 Bluetooth adapter, and it’s been a great little upgrade for my PC. Installation was super straightforward — just plug it into a USB port and it’s ready, with no faff. According to the official spec sheet, it supports Bluetooth 5.3 / 5.4, offering better speed and coverage than older versions. The nano‑form factor is a real plus — it’s tiny, barely sticks out of the USB port, and doesn’t feel fragile at all. Despite its size, the connection feels stable: I’ve used it with headphones, keyboard, and a mobile for file transfers, and it handles multiple devices with ease. The datasheet says it supports up to 7 simultaneous devices. Range is really good, too — Mercusys claims up to ~20 m in open space for this adapter. In everyday use it holds up well; I haven’t noticed dropouts or lag during streaming or transfers. On the downside, there are a few reports of issues on Linux — for example, some users on Reddit say the adapter is detected but doesn’t always find devices until certain firmware or driver tweaks are applied. So, if you’re using Windows, it’s pretty much plug-and-play. On Linux, you might need to fiddle a bit.

12 months completely trouble free on Linuxj, pi, and windows for audio mice and keyboard
These are great. Good range, completely plug and play on windows 10, windows 11 and any recent Linux version. Great to see support for Linux as it is so often a bit hit and miss. Signal must be quite strong, I can sit more than five metres from Linux media box with perfect reception and absolutely rock solid signal. Bought one to use and it was so good I bought two more; one for a second crash n burn pc and a spare for when one gives up if it ever does. Been using them constantly for over 12 months and just as good now as day 1 Bluetooth connectivity: Great range, solid signal Ease of setup: Truly plug and play on all operating systems including windows 10, windows 11, Ubuntu, mint, raspberry pi Functionality: Used for audio, keyboard, mice; haven’t found anything at all that doesn’t work with it Value for money: stunning value, nice small form factor, and “just works”. Exactly as it should be

Works Great, but....
This dongle works great but slightly disappointed by the level of interference and boom when a message drops on my PC while in a meeting.

Simple way to add Bluetooth functionality
Easy to install (just plugs into a spare USB slot), Windows 11 picks it up and installs default drivers and you can attach any Bluetooth devices you need to it. Excellent value for money and works perfectly to connect my headphones to my desktop PC.

Simply Plug and Play BT adapar
Purchased to stop gap an aging combined Bluetooth/WiFi card specially the the Bluetooth. Very simple to use. Insert in a USB port and pair whatever device as one normally would. Audio has been clear no jitters or tears. I cannot comment on distance since I use all BT devices right very near to where the adapter is. Worth it for the price and convience.

Perfect tiny adapter
This is a fantastic little bluetooth adapter, I purchased this to replace the in built bluetooth on my laptop, it worked as soon as I plugged it in and restarted the laptop, everything works perfect now, much cheaper solution to taking the laptop in for repair!

Great range
The range on this thing is better than my Wi-Fi router ...only got drop outs on my headphones when away at the furthest part of my house while I was looking inside a pantry behind my fridge. Plug and played instantly using Windows11 so no issues to report here.

Might NOT work on Linux ?
Got this for a Ubuntu 24.04LTS PC as other reviewers mentioned they had success with this Mercusys MA530 however does not work for me. It is detected by the operating system via the CLI but cannot get any discoverable devices to appear in the CLI nor the Gnome46 interface. So for those using Linux, if your a novice, don’t buy this. If you’re an expert then there are some that have got this working though the solution is beyond my capabilities.
