Anhand von 142 Satzmustern und ihren Variationen gelingt der japanischen Autorin ein didaktisch ausgesprochen einfühlsames Werk für amerikanisch-europäische Lerner. Das tönt auf den ersten Blick nicht so prickelnd, in der Tat liest und lernt man sich mit Vergnügen und ohne Mühe durch das Büchlein. An sich handelt es sich um eine Art Grammatik-Vermittlung der anderen Art, das Hauptziel besteht allerdings in der Verbesserung der kommunikativen Fähigkeiten. Die englischen Kommentare sind so simpel wie treffend und geben auch fortgeschrittenen Lernern immer wieder neue Einblicke in die Sprache, somit eignet sich das Werk ausgezeichnet zum Repetieren. Aber auch Anfänger gehören ausdrücklich zur Zielgruppe, zumal sämtliche Sätze in Kanji/Romaji wiedergegeben sind und das Buch mit einfachen Satzmustern anfängt bei progressivem Schwierigkeitsanstieg. Das wohlgeordnete Layout und die kurzen Kapitel sind sehr benutzerfreundlich, so dass man zwischendurch auch mal nur kurz reinschauen kann. Die kleinen und prägnanten Übungen haben alle einen Lösungsschlüssel. Im Anhang finden sich nützliche Verb-, Adjektiv- und Zahlwort-Tabellen. Ich bedauere sehr, dass mir dieses tolle Buch nicht schon früher in die Hände gelangt ist. Nebenbei gesagt, auf amazon.com gab's ein absolutes Glanzresultat bei den Rezensionen. Ein weiteres, sehr empfehlenswertes Buch der Autorin ist übrigens das "Japanese for All Occasions".

I really like this book because it shows you the mistakes that you are making and it has plenty of examples on how to improve your grammar in Japanese. I like how it's soo simple and it gives you the sentences that are essential in mastering Japanese. In other words, it doesn't teach you grammar that you'll never use in real life. I like how they give you common vocab. words too. If you've been struggling with Japanese and you don't know why GET THIS BOOK! It'll literally open your eyes and make you see Japanese in a different light. I also like how it gets down right to the basics which is necessary and boosts your confident with Japanese! Overall, if you feel you're not good at Japanese and have low self esteem at it get this book! You'll feel a lot better ;) It's also a lot better than a lot of Japanese Grammar textbooks because some of the other books are unorganized and don't provide you with enough examples. This provides you with enough examples and sentences for you to practice with! That's the key to learning this language PRACTICE
