AFTER TRIP UPDATE : The luggage appearance is like new after checking it 4 times. The wheels are still rolling smoothly despite enduring medieval cobblestone streets (I really thought they'd break, but no). I got the Platinum Elite 25 from Amazon Warehouse Deals at less than half the listed price! Except for a very slight scratch on the top leather handle, it was in pristine condition, and I was also able to register the product online without problem. Despite some reviews I read online, the front metal zipper was working fine. I still lubricated it with graphite powder and wax paper to prevent breakage and it glides very well now. The spinner wheels roll smoothly, the handle feels sturdy in hand, and the luggage is easy to maneuver. The expansion feature doesn't really add volume to the luggage, I think it only serves the purpose of being able to use the optional clothes hanger. I probably won't use the provided plastic toiletry bag but it's nice to have the option to unzip it off.

Pleased with suitcase, roomier than I expected which was a bonus. Liked the extra handles on the front and side.....so much easier to lift I would recommend

I purchased this suitcase based on Travelpro's brand reputation as a quality piece I could rely upon for years. It didn't even last its first trip. The handle is in the stuck down position. Can't pull the handle out!! Hunching down to navigate the airport is a literal pain in the neck. It's basically useless now. Thankfully there's Travelpro's warranty to rely on, right? Right?!? Well, no... I emailed them a warranty claim. And waited. And waited. No response for 2+ months despite assurances of 48-72 hours. No replies to follow-ups. Phoned in multiple times over several weeks on the their official support phone number. Either nobody picks up, or I get forwarded to a full mailbox. So if you want to roll the dice, go ahead. But I would no longer recommend Travelpro based on this warranty situation. They didn't even respond! Just ignore. Silence.

This review isn't just about the bag itself – it's about Travelpro's catastrophic failure in customer support for anyone living, working, or traveling outside the United States. If you're an international customer, or plan to be, you need to read this before you make a costly mistake, because you could end up with a useless bag! Let's be 100% clear: Travelpro refuses to ship spare parts outside the US, even if the bag is under warranty, and even if you offer to cover the cost for the spare parts and the shipping fees, they will flat out refuse you! This isn't just inconvenient; it's a fundamental flaw that renders their warranty and their products useless for a significant portion of the global population. The bag is not cheap either. I speak from infuriating personal experience. While on an international trip, my Travelpro Platinum Elite 25-inch bag got damaged in transit. You'd think a premium travel brand would stand by its product, right? Wrong. I sent 10 emails trying to explain the situation and convince them to help. Their response was always the same: a refusal to ship any parts outside the US. Imagine being stranded with a broken, unusable bag and the company literally telling you they won't do anything. This company clearly does not care about the people who actually use their products around the world. While the bag's build quality isn't terrible, it has a significant design flaw that speaks to a lack of practical user testing. The main interior cover pocket opens downwards. If you lean the bag's lid against a wall (as most people do when packing or unpacking especially while in a hotel), opening this pocket means everything inside will spill out onto the floor. It's a minor annoyance compared to the spare parts debacle, but it's indicative of a company that doesn't fully understand real-world travel needs. If you are an international traveler, or if you ever leave the US, do yourself a massive favor and look elsewhere. Make sure they offer an international warranty and actually stand behind it. Because Travelpro does not! I even have a YT vid entitled Travelpro 25in Platinum Elite Expandable Softsided Spinner Luggage Review, and I list reasons why you should avoid this bag anyway, but that review was before I experienced their appalling international customer service. This company needs to rethink its global strategy, or frankly, get out of the international market entirely. Until they fix this glaring, anti-customer policy, they deserve every penny they lose. Save your money, save your sanity, and buy from a company that actually supports its customers worldwide.
