I purchased this ice maker three months ago for my camper. It has been awesome to use and produces ice very quickly. I never noticed any bad smell aside from just the mild newness smell which quickly subsided. I use bottles spring water and have had great tasting ice with no calcium build up so far. It seems to be durable but time will tell as to how long it will last. It is a great size for one or two people however, I would get a larger one if I had need for 4 or more people. It doesn't take up too much space which is also a benefit in a camper where countertop space is limited, I would recommend.

I spend far too much driving to Sonic every week to get my large tea with crushed ice. I probably go far more often than what I do, but it's just it adds up after a while. That's really the only reason why I go. There is because I love their ice.So I decided it was years past due and got this ice maker. Now I can make my own ice and make my own tea. Therefore, saving quite a bit of money. I honestly predict that this machine will pay for itself in no time.It's easy to clean and get started. Plus the ice is perfect.

Two words. Sonic ice. I absolutely love this machine! I got one for my daughter too, hers stopped working within a month but we were able to get a replacement easily!

I bought the ice maker new. I received it in a timely manner. I opened the box and looked inside ice maker. It had dirty water spots. looks like something other than water was used in ice maker.

There is nothing better in summertime than QuikTrips chewy cubes of ice, but this ice is a close secondYou dump two 16oz water bottles (or tap if you are into that) into the reservoir hit the button & voila in 1 hr u will have one cup of perfectly soft, chewy (not hard crunchy) iceIts delicious & refreshing anytime, but also helpful if someone has been sick to their stomach & is slowly working their way back to eating & drinkingIf you leave the machine on after the cycle finishes & enough of the ice melts down from the basket, the weight in the reservoir will trigger the machine to make ice again which is niceI was not ready to commit to a 300+$ machine especially with horror stories about how loud those can be & the counterspace they take up, so, happily, i can say the size & output of this machine has worked well for 2 people & the sound is easily drowned out when you are watching tv4 stars because: 1. when the cycle finishes there is still about 1/3" of water in the reservoir you need to clean out with a papertowel 2. There should be a holster for the scoop

works great would recommend using some sort of material to help insulate ice basket door to keep from running so much
