This is a review of an ECO-WORTHY 12V 100AH LiFePO4 battery.Short report:The battery's initial performance is as specified. The company's service and technical support is exemplary.More details:The battery was delivered Aug 22, 2023 and put into service the nest day. This report is being written on Nov 21, 2023.Although we are off-grid solar, this battery was purchased to provide a power source for a 2 kW inverter (Harbor Freight) and various 12V pumps (Northern Tools) for our irrigation system. The inverter is used to power a small, portable air compressor, a sump pump (to transfer water between IBC totes) and a Worx electric leaf shredder.The battery is excellent for powering the pumps. It empties a 275 gallon tote many more times than the 100 AH AGM battery that it replaced. I did not make careful measurement of the AGM battery so a quantitative comparison is impossible at this point. With the ECO battery, it was necessary to add a pressure restriction for my over head sprinkler to function properly. This higher pressure was not an issue with the AGM battery. I have not had occasion to test the sump pump yet.The leaf shredder draws 8A at 120V which will be 80A at 12V. Harbor Freight claims their inverter is 80 - 90% efficient depending on load. Taking the lower number, this means the battery is being loaded to approximately 100A with surges when the shredder is heavily loaded. TO BE CLEAR, the ECO-WORTHY technical staff do not recommend loading the battery this way, as they expect it to shorten battery life. I am 78 years old and can only hope this limitation is significant for me. YMMV.How much usable power does this battery produce?I started with a fresh, fully charged battery charged with a LiFePO4 charger. Using the HF inverter, I connected a Kill-A-Watt meter to the inverter then the Worx shredder to the meter. The shredder pulled approximately 8A at 113-114V with no material entering the shredder. Under load, the current increased to approximately 10A with occasional spikes to approximately 12A. I ran the shredder until the inverter low voltage protection shut the inverter down. At this point, the Kill-A-Watt meter indicated 1.05 KWH had been produced. The battery measured 11.10V suggesting approximately 7 AH remaining charge.A 12V, 100 AH battery should produce 1.2KWH power. The side of the battery lists 12.8V, corresponding to 1.28 KWH. The specifications on the inverter are 90% efficiency at light load and 80% under heavy load. The Kill-A-Watt meter recorded 1.05 KWH after the current passed through the inverter. The actual battery capacity was calculated for 80%, 85% and 90% inverter efficiency and 12.0V and 12.8V nominal battery capacity:Meas KWH 1.05Inverter Eff 90% 85% 80%1.155 1.2075 1.26Battery Volts 12V 96.3% 100.6% 105.0%12.8V 90.2% 94.3% 98.4%The unaccounted power losses include the 1.5A Harbor Freight claims their inverter draws anytime it is on including the time I was reloading my cart. Since the inverter was heavily loaded when shredding, I think it is safe to assume overall losses were approximately 20%. My conclusion is the battery met its capacity specs within the limits of this measurement.ECO-Worthy has provided excellent customer service. The first time I used the battery to power the leaf shredder, I used a set of heavy duty clamps to attach the battery to the inverter. After an extended period of operation, the positive terminal softened the battery case resulting in the terminal settling. I contacted Eco-Worthy and informed them of the problem. Within 12 hours, I received an email requesting a photo. Within 12 hours of submitting that photo, I received a message informing me they would replace the battery and requesting more details about the circunstances. The re[placement battery arrived 9 days later. It was in transit for 7 of those days. Responding to their interest in the field performance of the battery, we have corresponded a number of times. These guys know what they are talking about and have demonstrated an interest in understanding how their product is used and a willingness to stand behind their product.Why did I buy this battery in the first place? There are three reasons: (1) It weighs 23 lbs, not the 65 lbs of an AGM battery. (2) This battery has a three year waranty compared to the one years of the AGM batteries on Amazon, (3) AGM batteries can be discharged to only 50% State of Charge (SOC.) The LiFePO4 batteries can be discharged to 20% or lower without affecting battery life. At current Amazon prices, the least expensive AGM battery is $3.20/usable AH whereas the ECO-Worthy is $3.50/ usable KWH. That is, the battery has 3x the warranty for a price difference < 10%.

This is a total of 5 I have. One in individual use for over a year and recently 4 with BT.So far no surprizes.The internal BMS is designed for safe operation .

This battery sounded like it would check all the boxes. Cheap, WiFi and Bluetooth, and the ability to put it in storage mode.The reality.1. Incomplete and inaccurate documentation. Manual says will stay connected with the app, but if it stops charging or discharging, it shuts off and requires a manual button press2. Cells don’t appear to be matched right. You can’t charge it fully or at the recommended 14.6v, as one or more cells go over voltage. When this happens, the 3 minute timer starts, and the included bw02 shuts down.4. Per ecoworthy, the bms cannot be updated, so don’t expect a firmware release to fix #1 or anything else.5. If you aren’t charging or discharging per the listing which contracts the manual, and you try to update the bw02 firmware, chances are it’ll shut it off mid update and brick it. There are instructions to fix it, but requires a windows machine to do so. The window to do this is just a few minutes. Don’t try to update the firmware of the bw02 unless you are charging or discharging. It’ll brick the dongle.5. Functions in the app itself don’t work, like the “buzzer switch”6. No documentation for the WiFi up setup or how to communicate with the battery via WiFi outside of the phone app7. Software on the bw02 advertises incorrectly with the MAC address instead of the manufacturer id like it should, causing BLE issues with any software but their own.8. The bw02 shuts down based on the columb counter, not actual capacity. As it drifts this means it’ll shut down around 5%, give or take at 12v. If you push the button to turn it back on it’ll keep going until the battery dies. If you start charging it again, the bw02 won’t turn back on until the voltage hits about 12v, which is about 5-8%9. No documentation about the bms, so no third party apps. Looks to be a different bms than their other 12v 100ah batteries.10. While the battery communicates via Modbus rs485, the bw02 simply adds on another header when it sends. Since there’s no documentation for the WiFi option, and no bms data, even if WiFi did work there’s no documentation on commands, registers, or coils you can get data from.Overall, if you want this for the capability, it isn’t there. they’ve acknowledged the bw02 and port issues, provide no solution to fix it despite multiple emails, can’t provide any details on the WiFi function, and only state they will look into addressing it on the next version.If you want just a dumb battery, and can deal with never getting full capacity out of it, then you’ll be fine, but then again the non iot variant is cheaper with well documented features.Update: the company did reach out and made things right. It sounds like the next revision to the model will make things right.

I bought two of the older style without the Bluetooth more than a year ago. Left them sit in my garage all winter. Pulled them out, dropped them into the trailer and they were nearly fully charged. Solar topped them off in a day. Very reliable while camping. Have never run short of power with 200W solar and occasionally running a generator. Well worth the money and the Bluetooth is a very cool addition. Will be very handy in the trailer.

Powers my boat perfectly.

I purchased the ECO-WORTHY 12V 100AH​ LiFePO4 Lithium Battery with Battery Status Display, on Amazon.The Battery has a "Single Cell Voltage to High" failure that will not clear. The battery will not turn on and discharge.I have emailed ECO Worthy 4 times and no response...Update: the only reply to email and there response time is around 72hours. This violates Amazon's policies.After 7 or 8 emails I finally got them to send me a replacement battery. It has the exact same problem.....Update: 2 out of 3 batteries are bad it's been 3 weeks since I stared asking for a refund and still nothing. There product doesn't work and they have crappy customer support.... don't waste your money!!!!After 5 weeks of doing battle with there very bad customer service. I finally got them to send me paperwork to send back the 3 batteries . 1 good out of the 2 originally ordered and the bad replacement they shipped me. Now all I need is my refund. Don't waste your money on this junk!
