SOREL Carson™ Chukka WP

Looks great feels great and appears very well made. Sole is flexible grippy and doesn’t capture mud or stones. I went on a serious boot hunt, I tried and returned a TON of good (but IMO not great) boots: Keen Targee 3, Rockport Rugged Bucks, Columbia Newton Ridge, Timberland Anti fatigue, Timberland White Ledge, Thursday Boot, Nortive 8, Carenurse boot, Foxelli hiking boot, Altra hike boot. I kept this Sorel as a dressy light duty work/hiking boot and a Solomon X Ultra plus an Oboz Sawtooth for more serious hiking.

Other than the fact I could have gotten them 25% off if I waited another day I’d be sooo happy. But they feel good and look great. I wear 11 in Nike running shoes and these worked perfect also in 11. Now I love that these are waterproof most of all. I can give the duck boots a rest in the winter

These boots are very nice looking but I got them for a family member for Christmas and the sole of the shoe is already coming apart from the shoe part. He loves the look and comfort but these definitely aren’t heavy duty enough for work.

I bought these Sorel Men's Carson Chukka Waterproof Boots for a trip where I needed flexibility due to variable weather patterns (alternating between near-freezing temperatures all the way up to Spring warm temperatures, thin 2C to 18C) and also different terrain (from city to wilderness). I wanted one set of shoes so I could travel light, and these have worked out perfectly except for one thing: the laces.The laces lack durability. Over a two-week usage period the laces on one of the boots has frayed and now I'm at the point where I'm paranoid they will tear at the most inconvenient time (like on the way to the airport). So now I'm having to search for a backup (I'm mid-trip again) and these days, finding replacement laces is a real pain! Why they would include such poor laces is baffling in an otherwise great product.
