Incredible value for money, feels very well put together.
The screen is really good, text is sharp and offers good contrast. It does have an "auto" mode for the backlight brightness but it does not use a sensor to measure your environment lighting, it rather selects the brightness and colour temperature based on the time of day. It's also fairly lightweight and easy to hold, however I'd recommend to pair it with a case for better protection. The system is good and doesn't try to push ads in your face which is quite a plus, you can load all sorts of documents onto it with the USB-C cable provided. The bluetooth functionality is useful, it connects to headphones without problems but the TTS is not really that great, still, something is better than nothing. The controls can be hard to understand at first, but with time one does get used to them. Overall a really nice buy and a really good option if you would like to distance away from the Kindle ecosystem. Solid 9/10.

Great Quality
If you want a quality E-reader that is not in the Amazon ecosystem then this is the one for you. Build quality, readability, are top notch. Also very customizable. It's also really nice that you can send eBooks wirelessly by sending it via email to your pocketbook.

Pricey, but I still prefer it
I got this item as parts to replace the broken screen on my 64gig model. Its ridiculous that its the same price as my 64gig (no longer sold) model, while this one is only 16gig. Though the price increase could be attributed to the massive tariff increase (sigh), it’s going to be hard to sell this as a competing product compared to other e-books brands. Some people, like me still prefers the better contrast (and lighter background) with minimal to no backlighting of this black/white model compared to the Kaleido/colored ones. The colored doesn't have 64gig model. This one’s text is crisp and clear. Colored/Kaleido is just too dark without backlighting compared to this one.The software works very well, and I love that I can also put in my preferred font! Dictionary needs improvement, but the software response is fast enough. This item also doesn’t push their ebook store to the front and center which I very much prefer unlike other companies. Can sync via cloud if you want to continue reading on your phone/app.Avoid putting it in between heavy schoolbooks inside ur bag - you’ll crack the screen eventually due to pressure.Battery life is wonderful. I go 3 to 4 weeks before needing to recharge, and I read more than 12 hours a day (about 1 entire light novel volume per day).Overall weight is decent, could be lighter if they use lighter, stiffer metal frame inside but it’s weight is fine even with a case.

I LOVE my PocketBook Era!
I’m a new convert from the world of Kindles. I’ve been buying and using Kindle e-readers for almost 15 years and I’ve gotten slowly more and more disenchanted with the experience. When they discontinued the Oasis, I finally had to search elsewhere. I wanted something with good, unobtrusive, tactile physical buttons, a front light with adjustable warmth, and USB-C. Ideally, I also wanted something that would handle PDFs and epubs with more ease than my Kindles have in the past. This was the winner and I couldn’t be more satisfied! Battery life is great, it’s snappy and responsive, the size and weight are perfect, the construction feels premium, and it does everything I want it to. Setup was a breeze, and I was absolutely FLOORED that I didn’t have to make an account or anything! When was the last time you were able to use a new electronic device without having to set up some kind of stupid account?!I truly couldn’t be happier with my purchase and I’ve already recommended PocketBook to all of my Kindle-using friends who are looking to break free of Amazon’s chains as well.

Good hardware with terrible software
I bought this to replace my kindle, because I wanted a drm free reader that still had my favorite kindle feature, syncing between the app on my phone and the reader for all those times I have a little time to get some reading in and don’t have the reader with me. Pocketreader claims to have that feature, but it doesn’t actually work. Getting it to sync is an exercise in frustration. The software in general seems very buggy and slow. Can’t recommend it at this time.

Sorry Amazon. I'm fed up with Kindle quality control
This unit replaced my barely more than a year old Paperwhite Signature Edition. Yeah, I have had to convert to ePub, but I love this reader. In many ways it is superior to my long dead Kindle Oasis and at a much better price. It even has speakers for my audiobooks if I want. I am very happy with this purchase. Sorry, I've got 50,000 pages of reading backlog I've got to get back to.

Absolutely beautiful
Love it. Everything I hoped it would be. Screen is similar to the Touch HD3 except bigger. For those who say font is not bright enough, simply use a different font. The script is perfect. Looks just like a book. Crisp and dark. Pocketbook has never failed me. I have returned all my Kindle products and now own only Pocketbook. Great products and great customer service.
