I was gifted two used sheepskin rugs by some friends of mine and have had them for YEARS. I was told them washed them and dried them so they always looked a little rough. They were mostly put away in storage for some time but I decided I’d like to try to revive them. After doing a little bit of research I dove in and got this!Washing methods: cold gentle wash in washing machine. I put one rug in at a time. I filled the machine half way with cold water, put about 1/3 cup of this washing solution, and a few tablespoons of baking soda as it had been years since they were washed. I let the rug sit in this solution for about 15 mins, then proceeded with the wash.Once done, I laid it out on my hang-drying clothes rack; the rugs smelled AMAZING, very gentle and light- clean scent. I brushed the hair with my hand only to get pieces to break up, took a minute or so. I let the rugs sit for several days to hang dry and put a fan on them during the day. You can see the after effect of washing on one rug vs not yet washed in the side by side pic :)THEN the part I was most excited about- after the rugs had air dried for several days, I purchased a wool rug brush ($7) and brushed for about a minute- and the last picture is the end result. I’m so thrilled and impressed!!!! EASY to do if you have a few days of patience for drying! Skins look 100x better and crazy soft, and smell amazing!!!! 5 stars from me!

I used it to wash a new dark color cotton dress and a medium size load of towels in the washer. Both items came out nicely. The towels nice and soft, the cotton dress was a bit of a worry, as it was a hand blocked print from india. I soaked it for 5 minutes in cold water, then gave it a rinse. The dress came out looking as new as when it went in.

The media could not be loaded. I wish I had before pictures, this thing it was disgusting. It had matted fur that we couldn’t even come out, it had oil, it had food, it was just gross.We regularly took it out and beat it, or shook it out, and we regularly brushed it but none of that got it clean the way it needed to be clean.I did a few searches trying to find something to clean it before and could never find anything. It’s supposed to be dry cleaned, but it would be over $100 because it’s for sheepskins instead of just one. Thing was, that’s how much it cost me to buy it in the first place. Didn’t make sense to dry clean it.I’d almost given up and just tossed it when I finally came across this shampoo conditioner for it. The first bottle I bought came with the seal busted open and had leaked all over the bag, but the company and Amazon refunded me so I can get a new one.I did two washes since it was so gross and I am so happy I did. It seems to have worked really well, it’s very clean. I don’t see any of the dirt broil or anything from before, my only complaint is that the skin on the bottom side is now a bit dry, and the wool is not as fluffy as it was when I first purchased it. But that could be the way that I washed it, I might’ve done something wrong.Otherwise it is much softer and cleaner than it was before I washed it. I will definitely be using this again and definitely recommend.
