Better than expected.
This was required reading for my T'ai Chi class. I was surprised that I enjoyed it as much as I did. The concepts are simple to understand and apply. It had some good exercises to practice.

An Excellent Source for Motivation
I would readily recommend this book to any athlete or lay person seeking motivation. One thing that left me a bit chagrined was that I was unable to cross reference his quotes from the Tao Te Ching by Lao Tzu. I wanted to find how the metaphysical basis could be a contemporary basis for motivation. So that was my only disappointment.

Don't buy the kindle version
The content seems pretty good, and I really like the idea of the visualization exercises. However, the formatting of the Kindle version is just terrible and gets incredibly distracting. I have not finished the book, and the formatting locked in fonts that you can't change are really to blame. Will probably get a used hard copy.

Tao of Self Help
Good self help book for those that are interested in improving themselves but who are also capable of reading self help books. This book contains a lot of examples, stories and exercises to keep you motivated in addition to very important morals and ideals used in the Tao. For those that have never read a self help book, they are at times very cheesy; This extra information does not negate the book's ability to be useful, it is just sometimes less focused, more distracting and a bit unnecessary. Now preparing to read The Tao Te Ching . . .

My favorite book of all times.
My favorite book of all times. I am not exaggerating. This book has raised me out of very difficult times in my life. (thank you Chungliang Al Huang) I bought the paper book, and the kindle book a few years later, just because I didn't like to go on long trips/deployments without it.

A good motivational tool
This book provides a philosophy that focuses on you, your attitudes and how you can help yourself (and others) through a positive thought process. Have you had doubts about your ability to complete a task or a competition? This book may be as useful for you as it has been for me. I recommend this book and have given it as a gift on several occasions.

Great book. Good for this runner's perspective on how to do your best by relaxing you mind so your body will follow. Great exercises and overall content. Well worth the read.
