A great keyboard that becomes perfect when paired with Analog Lab
Using this with FL studio. Works like a charm and the user mode makes it painlessly customisable. Very comfortable keys. What makes this truly special is the Analog Lab software that comes with it. Incredible sounds and would shine in any musical context one can think of.Very happy with the purchase.

Great MIDI But Keys feel more Synth like rather than a Piano.
The Midi works pretty well with the included stuff, The mapping doesn't work for FL Studio, so you need to manually map the knobs and buttons. On the other hand, the Keys and Pads work on FL automatically. The Build quality is outstanding, but since, it's matte finish on metal, it is bound to get scratched if not handled carefully like mine did. The pads sound pretty solid. The keys aren't up to my expectations but is still playable and expressive. The keys doesn't have hammer action, so it works just like a Moog or a DX 7. It doesn't resemble piano keys. But, with a little practice, you could play this just like you play a hammer action keyboard. And the keys and pads are also a bit noisy. But, at this price, with all those extra features, it's a bargain. Me being a Music Producer, This will work for all those string sections as well as some piano pieces too. It's an allrounder. Get it.

This is really good, go for it, especially if you have the V Collection 9 software from Arturia
The buttons are really nice and it's also velocity sensitive, they are not too hard and also not too soft at the same time. The drum pads are also buttons but they don't make any click sound when you press them so at first it feels annoying but you'll get used to it in a day or two.

Somewhere between excellent (overall) and perfect (in the given budget)
It looks awesome and its French...thats a good combination. The matt white body, and matt black keys gives it a soothing yet cool look. It is compatible with the casio sustain pedal i already had. The semi weighted keys are quite accurate when it comes to velocity. The keyboard can be registered with maximum 5 computers. That will be enough as most probably you will need it for one/ two laptops and one desktop. It adapts easily with Ableton live. The keyboard VST that is included in the box is not the best one around. Serum is much better. The only hind side is that the included VST can be controlled from the keyboard. so that is one big positive. I already own and use the akai mpd 232 so have not explored the drumpads on this one yet. I have not explored all features for controlling Ableton live as I also use Akai APC 40 MKII. The knobs may not be the bestest quality but you are definitely getting more than you are paying for so a pretty good deal over all. The keyboard may not work with very long USB cable. It does not work with the 10 feet USB cable I already have. Setting up the keyboard is not the easiest as its not a simple plug and play keyboard. The bios needs to be updated. You have to follow instructions carefully to make it work perfectly. But after the initial setup, everything else is good. The only thing i feel it could have had was the led buttons to be lit up while in play. At least I haven't figured out how those lights turn on.But the point is, it just has an aura that attracts creativity. At least that is what I felt when got I it.

Best in the market !
Although i haven’t used any other MIDI keyboards, I can definitely tell that Arturia makes quality products. I have been using this keyboard from past one month and the performance is flawless, you can feel the keys as premium keyboards, it doesn’t feel like synthetic one. Pads are good and responsive, knobs and faders also works beautifully, though i wish if faders were little more tight because sometimes i overdo automations unwillingly. But that’s definitely not a deal breaker. The most interesting part of this keyboard is it’s software ‘Analog Lab 4’, which comes free with it. That software is truly a game changer. Till now I haven’t found any cons and i guess there never will be. So, go for it because you won’t regret buying it.

Great Keyboard for a Budget
I just came back to Music Production after a Break of 18 Long yrs... The music production scenario has changed a hell lot... Now its VSTs all around... I own a Korg Triton.. but it seems to be outdated to be get attached to my computers.. thus After some knowledge updation I zeroed in to buy this Arturia Essential 49... The Cost is 1/8th of my Old Keyboard.. yet when connected to a Computer its a beast... Outran my Expensive Triton way behind...Triton is still great to play.. But this one... Its a New Gen Beast in a Budget... U just cant get a better option at this price... Comes with Analog Lab Full Version.. Grand Piano D and Ableton Live 10 Lite... With Drum Pads, Controllers and Faders... Thus I would prefer it over few of the Midis which dont offer much along with... I am very satisfied with it.. wish me luck for my comeback... Thanks All

This is such a good controller, It's flawless with Akai. It's perfection.
Normally I don't like to brag however the Arturia KayLab Essential 49 is flawless as a standalone controller. It's competition (Novat***) can't even come close. Here is why.PROS:The Keybed is from Fatar (A huge plus)The ARPS are killerThe display is easy to navigate and readThe pitch and mod wheels feel excellentModern USB-C and Standard Midi with sustain jack.Powered by USBFaders and knobs feel really good when moving themThe included software is so much better than its competitor*** Works Flawlessly with Akai Force and MPC One, One+ and MPC Software. ****** Works so good with Roland MC 707, Aria Rythm composer and Verselab MV-1 ***The "Midi Learn" on the Akai force and MPC series allows you to instantly control your drum rolls, Envelopes, drops and samples right off the que from the Arturia KeyLab Essential. (This is super fantastic). No other controller that I have used has this ability to work so well with Akai. (Not even the MPKs or Mini) In my opinion. The chord progression is fantastic on the KeyLab Essential 49.I love how you can assign the samples to your scores and recall them in with the pads on the Arturia KeyLab 49.CONS:No matter which Arturia KeyLab you purchase it has the "ugly fake wooden sides". Arturia, for a few extra dollars should include vinyl color sides for you to stick on or leave the sides the color of the board. For all you AKAI OWNERS, you will love this. (my opinion only)Overall, out of 8 different controllers that I use for Hardware Groove Boxes like Akai & Roland, there is noting that comes close. Thank you Arturia! Money well spent!
