MUFFLER TURN OUT 04-09 XL - MXL-130TO

First, I would like to say I'm like most people that buy a new Harley and just don't have a ton of extra cash laying around to do upgrades. I was looking for that distinctive deep louder sound and thought the Cycle Shack slip ons would be a good option. I have to say that I am very impressed so far with the sound of the Cycle Shacks and how the engine seems to be running smoother with less vibration at idle and lower gears. For the money, this is a winner. Now, the BUT....Although the seller delivered the product, it was not on time (1 week late), and there was a very small indentation on one of the slip ons, but not enough of an issue for me to return them as there are no chips in the chrome finish and again it was very small. Finally, the review by the user Dan was most certainly helpful by alerting me to get the crossover gaskets needed when you take the stocks off. Unless you are a magician, you will destroy the old ones... Last, there seems to be a split decision on the HD forum and other sites if you should retune after putting these on. Since my bike if EFI and I haven't changed the stock air filter, the bike should adjust to these slip ons within a hundred miles or so. For now, mine is running fine, but I will continue to do a spark plug check to see if the engine starts to run lean. I would ask the seller and manufacturer to give more of this type of information so customers make good buying decisions and they in turn earn repeat business....

I was very hesitant to buy these as they were not the Vance & Hines setup that I was pretty intent on buying. However, at half the price, hard to say no to especially after the great reviews they get. I purchased the "turn-out" cut for more of a unique look as everyone has the "slant-cut" mufflers, also the fact that these mufflers are smaller in diameter than the stock ones - much more sleek appearance.I was very pleasantly surprised at the quality and look of these when I opened the package. The instructions (which I actually did not need as the installation is pretty simple) are very helpful and the mufflers actually installed in around 20 minutes - after about an hour of working the stock mufflers off. Speaking of which, take my advice and order a pair of the cross-over pipe gaskets (P/N: 65781-82 - available on Amazon) because you very likely WILL damage or destroy these during removal or installation. Even if you do not, better to replace them and get a good seal.As to the sound of these, I am VERY impressed and VERY happy with the sound of the exhaust behind the H-D 1200 powerhouse. This exhaust does nothing less than bring out the character and unique sound and feel of the 1200 engine. Be warned it is MUCH louder than I thought they would, even with baffles in the pipes. Videos online do this exhaust no justice, buy for yourself to see. I did not notice any major increase in performance but the bike definitely feels smoother, which is what I expected.All in all, if you want an exhaust setup that makes windows creek and ground rumble, not to mention, a fantastic sound behind your sporty, then look no further. Spend under $200 and get the sound of a $500+ exhaust system.

The pipes fit on my 06 HD 1200 Custom perfectly. The finish was flawless. Quick to install. And the best part is the Sound it gives the 1200, nice sound without being overly loud.

For the money you are not going to find a better sounding or looking exhaust for your sportster. It installed easily and gave me the deep sound I wanted.

Fast shipping. Very loud with a deep rumble. Shoots the exhaust tone at the vehicles i pass by, letting them know im to their left. Chrome finish looks great. Best bang for the buck. Ive had these pipes for 4 months now and i have no issues or complaints. Highly recommended product.
