Five Stars - Absolutely Unbelievable Power and Silence!
I am utterly blown away by the Tech Drive Super-Quiet fan! The name doesn't lie – I honestly can't believe how incredibly quiet it is while operating. It's almost silent, a complete game-changer compared to the roaring jet engine my old fan sounded like. But the real magic? The POWER! My daughter is notorious for taking epic, hour-long showers that usually leave our bathroom looking like a tropical rainforest, dripping with condensation and thick with steam. Yesterday, after one of her marathon sessions, I walked into the bathroom fully expecting the usual sauna conditions.I was met with... NOTHING. Not a single ounce of steam lingered in the air. The mirrors were crystal clear. The walls were completely dry. It was as if she hadn't even showered! This fan is an absolute beast at extracting moisture and air.If you're looking for a bathroom fan that is both unbelievably quiet and incredibly powerful, look no further. The Tech Drive Super-Quiet is a true marvel. It has completely solved our humidity issues and does so without making a peep. I am beyond impressed and wholeheartedly recommend this fan to anyone who wants a truly effective and silent ventilation solution.

Suitable for retro-fit, good quality fan.
The hard part is retro-fit when you don't have access to unscrew the old housing from the joint. This one happens to the exact size (7-1/2 by 7-1/4) of the old builder fan, the the height is a bit bigger. So I try to fit this into the old housing. What you need is to take down the support parts connecting the fan (in black) from the new housing, find a way to attach them to the old housing (see picture), then attach the fan to the support parts. Due to one side the housing was for ground wire attachment, not smooth, I was only able to use 2 out of 3 supports. But it seems good enough with the tight fit and friction. But if you are not handy, it will take quite some time to do it.This one is 2 Sone, 70 CFM, much improvement over the builder 4 Sone/50 CFM fan. Also easy to replace if needed because it is screwed in.

Great fan and low noise
We worked harder on getting the old one out than we did getting this one installed. No need to cut a bigger hole, this fits the standard cutout for a bathroom vent. Noise is much lower than the original at the same speed. The only issue we had was keeping the vent-to-duct adapter connected. The two plastic tabs don't provide much teeth for the vent adapter to keep a solid connection we easily corrected that with some aluminum vent tape we had lying around.

very well done a work of art
I tested the 90cfm fan, it is very well constructed. I was so intrigued by the quality, the heavy protective boxing. I was actually proud that I bought this and will certainly monitor this seller and more products from this bath fan manufacturer. Very well done! the fan is almost silent.

Follow my advice for installing from below.
I decided to upgrade a burnt out 50CFM bath fan after I had already tried to replace just the motor and fan with a "universal" kit that came with the mounting plate and bolts upside down and I couldn't reverse it so I returned to Amazon and for $11 more got this new fan unit which is 70CFM and has a 3 In. exhaust duct and sound level of only 2 sones. Overall, it would be an increase of 40% in CFM and a 50% decrease of noise by 2 sones. However, this was not designed to be easily installed in an existing ceiling that doesn't have access from above like an attic. There are two 1.5 in. mounting tabs, one on each side of the housing, to be screwed into the side of a ceiling joist. So if you are installing from below you have no access to screw these tabs into joist after unit is placed. You would have to take exact measurements of mounting slots and insert screws into joist that would match the distance for the slots to slide down on head of screws( back out screw head to accommodate slot). Instead, I made a square block frame from a 2x4 and just laid it on top of the sheetrock up against the opposite joist to create a closer wall to screw into. I then drilled two holes on each side of the lower frame that would face the joists. After doing the wiring using the romex cable clamp type connector and wire nuts from the old unit and bending the wires into the small housing access panel and connecting the vent duct hose I lowered the fan housing into the opening flush with the ceiling and screwed through the holes I had made into the joists. Turned on power and Fan works great. Very quiet and no vibration from the installation. This was some extra work making a wood block frame and drilling into the housing that could have been avoided if manufacturer designed a better mounting system for mounting from below. Also, instructions say to pull the wires from the hole and connect to the house wiring in a “not provided junction box“. But you don't need a separate junction box if you have a romex clamp type cable connector to secure the house cable to the opening that is built in access panel which acts as a junction box and then you can secure the connected wires inside the built in access panel in the housing. I intend to replace two other fans with this model. It’s quiet and 70cfm vs. 50cfm does help. Several reviews complain of noise but mine is very quiet. I think vibration from loose installation is causing noise. I screwed both sides of housing into wood frame. No vibration.
