Powerful, good battery life and features, great value for money.
I treated myself this Christmas to this new electric toothbrush. My existing one was starting to look old and tatty and was no longer operating at full power, needing recharging more frequently.Until now I had always bought electric toothbrushes from this brand’s main competitors. But I was tempted by the price and reviews this one had.I have not been disappointed, although it took a week or so to get used to, because it felt far more powerful and the sonic vibrations really tickled my gums at first. Having said that, I now feel more confident that my teeth are getting a really good clean. The battery life is very good.It has 2 settings powerful and wow even more powerful. It has two lights on it, one to alert you to when it needs recharging and the other to remind you to replace your brush head, which needs doing every 3 months. I am not sure how the latter alert works as yet because I have not had it long enough. It has a pressure sensor, so it will also alert you if you are pressing too hard.It also has what they call Quadpacer & Smart-Timer, the idea is you divide your mouth into quarters, and it alerts you by vibrating when it is time to move on to the next quad. This does discipline you into spending the right amount of time cleaning. You get a handy travel case, which I did not have with my previous one.The toothbrush heads come with individual covers which is great for hygiene, my previous make did not supply such things. The other brand supplied various coloured washers for their brush heads so that if multiple people were using the same unit, they could distinguish their own brush. This is the only thing they have not included in their design. This brush represents great value for money, does an excellent job without having to break the bank.

Took a bit of getting used to but it's doing the job
My dentist told me I had to get an electric toothbrush to prevent me from doing more damage to my gums by brushing too hard. I have always resisted the idea as I've not really had a problem with keeping my teeth well brushed and I really did not want to hand over control to yet another gadget.Anyway, needs must.... so I found a reasonably good one on Prime Day for half price and made sure it has pressure control - ie it warns you if you are pressing too hard.. It also has a facility to tell you when 30 seconds is up so you can do 30 seconds per quarter of your mouth.Well, the first day I tried it I almost sent it back! It felt really really odd and I kept touching my teeth with the vibrating plastic part which felt and sounded quite unpleasant; and I dribbled frothy toothpaste all over the place. But I told myself I had to give it a week and made myself try again - but this time I read the instructions more fully. I discovered I could set the brush so that the first 14 brushings start more gently and gradually increase in intensity and I learned what to expect to identify when the 30 seconds period is up and when I am brushing too hard - the change in the brush is very slight and not easy to recognise at first. So the second day was an improvement but I still felt my teeth rattling when I accidentally touched them with the plastic rather than the bristles and I was worried to close my mouth as I brushed in case I did it again. However, the vibration from the brush on my teeth was less severe and I felt a little more positive. The third day I managed to keep my mouth more closed and dripped less froth and the fourth day I was feeling more proficient. Now, the fifth day, I am quite hopeful that the brush is doing a reasonable job compared with my manual brush but I still have to do a little more brushing to 'finish off' after the 2 minutes timed brush is over.I will now have to wait until the next visit to the dentist to find out how effective it is!

Does the Job
Does the job but you need to listen to the operation - when the noise gets slightly fainter, it is time to put it on charge

Great Service
I bought this over two years ago and the reason I'm writing a review is because it had an intermittent fault that gradually got worse so I called Philips to talk about getting it repaired expecting to pay for this. However, the person I spoke said that because it was only a few months out of warranty she would get it replaced for free. Fantastic. They sent me a label and other paperwork by email and I printed it out along with my original receipt and sent it to them. They paid the postage so it only cost me 40p this being the cost of an envelope.Once they had received my faulty toothbrush they immediately sent a replacement. What I got was a brand new handle, a charger and a brush head.I have used a Philips' sonic toothbrush for many years and it gives me great results.Philips provided a really excellent service and I'm very grateful for their generosity.
