Monster Hold and Deluxe are both great! Strong hold without making your hair hard like gel
This is a review of BOTH Uppercut Deluxe Pomade and Uppercut Monster Hold Pomade. (I have no idea why Amazon puts reviews for both on the same page.)I have short hair and was looking for a product I could use to push my hair back and have it stick up straight. (For years I used Woody's Headwax Pomade, but they reformulated it and the new product stinks.) Uppercut Monster Hold and Uppercut Deluxe are the absolute best I found! The hold is fantastic for both, but the Monster Hold's hold is just slightly better -- makes my hair immediately stand straight up, and it stays up all day. (Although Deluxe does this well, too, but again, Monster is a tiny bit better at it.) Also, Monster Hold and Deluxe both don''t make your hair hard like gel. With Monster Hold your hair will feel a little bit waxy, but I don't mind. With Deluxe, your hair will feel a bit stiff, but not that hard. Both of them give a medium shine, too. A big difference is the smell. Monster Hold has barely any smell, while Deluxe has a strong smell, which I actually really like. Also, Monster Hold is more like a harder wax in the canister, whereas the Deluxe is more gooey (but not in a bad way). If you're looking for great hold without making your hair hard, I highly recommend trying both of these! I think I might switch off between both because I love both of them.

Strong, long lasting. Doesn't smell. Nice product.
Makes my hair look good which is not an easy task. Plenty of strength. Not too shiny. A little greasy/waxy but that is to be expected. Lasts all day even with me constantly running my fingers through my hair.Doesn't wash off very easily so after applying I use soap and water on my hands and then dry on a towel and it rubs off my hands. After it's been in my hair all day it usually comes out completely by the time I shower the next morning. Sometimes theres some residue left but I don't care because I'm putting it right back into my hair anyway.

Best pomade ever used!
This is THE best pomade i have ever used! I have used MANY MANY brands and MANY MANY kinds of hair styling product, but this one is so far the best! First, it shines just in the right level, and it holds very very well, the hair won't change a bit even after a lone day at school. I live in Miami and this product did a good job on keep my hair good look in the heat and the humid weather. Even after heavy rain i can reshape my hair within 5 sec with my fingers, and it'll still hold everything together. I love it!But i don't know they decided to put a such ugly picture on the top lid.

Not the Monster Hold I was hoping for
I wanted to like this, but it just does not have the monster hold I was hoping for. Opening the tin, the pomade seems super stiff as many have mentioned, but after digging a finger into it I found the consistency to be a little softer than I had imagined. Once you get a scoop out, it spreads in your hands really easily and feels neither dry nor sticky which I was hoping for, instead feeling a little greasier. My issue is that with curly 5 inch hair, I need something to tame the curls and this has after a few days been unable to do that. It is not bad at all, it achieves a good look and I am sure I will continue to use it, but as of right now it will not be my go-to. I have been using Uppercuts clay pomade and THAT is stiff and tough to get out of the tin, and once you do it definitely tugs when applying it to your hair and achieves the look I am going for, but I was hoping to find something with the same hold but more shine and imagined this would be it. Compared to Lockharts Heavy Hold, this is much greasier while Lockhart is stickier, providing a better hold with less runoff, and it lasts longer. If you do not have curly hair I am sure this will work fine, but not what I was looking for.

I love trying new stuff and different brands
I have used a lot of different pomades and clays over the past few years. I love trying new stuff and different brands.I had used Uppercut Deluxe Pomade here and there over the past few months. It was a good pomade, good hold and shine and great scent. My hair tends to be hard to control sometimes, so I decided to give Monster Hold a try. This is by far one of the worst hair products I have ever used. It is called "Monster Hold" which is comical, because it barely has any hold at all. It doesn't dry or harden, and it doesnt keep hair in place. I do a pomp and it will not hold whatsoever. This product is garbage and i wouldnt recommend it to anyone. Sorry Uppercut, but you did this one way wrong.

Monster Hold..Better than the Rest...But My Hair is just WOW
I have the craziest bushiest hair ever, not wavy, not curly, fine hair just lots of it.This product works well but if I'm doing too much it will fall out of style and I will have to restyle it.Works well with little water, don't apply on a wet head, damp is OK.This product works for me better than any out there on the market, it's just the hair that makes all the products look bad.Tried Imperial, Sauvecito, Uppercut Deluxe, Layrite.Out of all of them the Uppercut Deluxe and Monster Hold work best for my unmanageable wild hair.I also have 3 swirls which makes the back of the head non-cooperative.

My favorite
I wear my hair in a pompadour with the sides cut fairly tight. It's wavy, especially as it gets longer. Uppercut Monster Hold is my favorite because it holds throughout the day and doesn't have a strong smell that I would get tired of. It's easy to re-style with a comb or brush if needed without having to apply more. It is tough to wash out because it's oil-based but water-based just doesn't have the hold I need. There is a trick to washing almost all of oil-based pomades out of your hair though. Put a good amount of heavy duty conditioner in your hair and let it sit for 10 or 15 minutes. Then wash it out with shampoo a couple of times. I only do this before I go to the barber. There's no point in completely washing it out if you're just going to put more in your hair.
