Device works great. It's fast and easy to use! I recommend it! Great price too! Great battery life. High quality, and powerful! Multiple features too! TheBi-directional Control and wireless connection Worked seem less! I needed to check the IM monitors to get ready for a smog and it was able to do this perfectly. I enjoyed the wireless connection too. I've had nothing but positive experiences with Xtool. I own the DS5, the D7, the xtool TPMS tool and ive used all of them without any problems. I will continue to purchase tools from them in the near future since they are reliable and for the price yoy cant go wrong. Also this tool has amazing battery life. The screen is big and the brightness is super bright. If you are a professional or even a DIY mechanic im sure you will enjoy using this device alot. Its fast and also tough. Its surprisingly very light too and it even comes with a case. And a light screen protector. If yoy ever have any problems you can email customer service and they do a great job helping and answering any questions about your problems or if you are just curious about anything. Also relearning the xtool it has so many special functions and I also noticed that on you tube there are many people that have made videos on some of these devices so you can even go there for extra info. I also think exploring the device and using it on different car's can be fun and entertaining. It really does allow you to look deep into all kinds of data. The customer service people can answer all your questions if you want to know what else the device can do and also what it can do for your specific car. Give this device a shot im sure you will be very happy with your experience.

I have bought many inexpensive OBD2 scanners over the years and have usually been disappointed. I finally decided to buy a high-end scan tool, and boy am I happy. The XTOOL D7W car scanner does it all, including coding the ECU, at a price point that is better than other comparable scanners. The scanner comes packed in a nice case and with its own dedicated charger and USB C cable. Mine was at about 50% charged and it took about an hour to get to 100%. The scan tool automatically scanned for updates after it was connected to wifi, and then updated automatically. Of note, it comes with 3 years of free updates. The main screen is simple to navigate as are all of the menus. I bought the bidirectional scan tool because I was having a constant misfire problem on a 2000 Silverado. None of my cheaper auto scanners were able to help me pinpoint the problem. The XTOOL D7W diagnostic scanner helped me to rule out everything except the fuel injectors themselves. I put a new set of injectors in the truck, and it now runs perfectly. Just this fix was worth the price of the scanner. Like all auto code reader scanner diagnostic scan tools it reads and clears OBDII codes. It also has over 39 resets like throttle body and TPMS. It also can check transmission solenoids. I also really like that the connection between the scanner and the USB dongle that attaches to the OBDII port is wireless. I was able to be looking at the engine as I checked the various functions. I put some pictures up and a video to show how easy it is to navigate the menus. All in all, it is a great obd2 scanner with Bluetooth which I am certain I will get a lot of use out of, and will be the last scan tool I will ever buy. If you are looking for a high-end scanner at a really great price point, this XTOOL is the one.

The Xtool D7W is a significant upgrade from its predecessor the D7, boasting a faster processor, increased battery capacity, and the standout feature—a wireless connection to the OBD2 dongle. This enhancement allows for greater flexibility, enabling you to move around the car while performing diagnostics rather than being confined to the dashboard. As an entry-level tool, the D7W offers exceptional value for DIY mechanics seeking dealer-level capabilities at a bargain price as I purchased mine during an Amazon Flash Sale event for a little over $420. Comes with: • Scanner • Bluetooth Dongle • Plug adaptors • Power supply • Charge Cable • USB C to USB2 Adapter • Durable Storage Box It operates via an Android Version 10 operating system. All software that is loaded on the scanner consumes 40% of the available storage. Initial setup requires connecting to Wi-Fi to download and install updates, which is straightforward. Boot up time is about 50 seconds from a cold start. The user interface is generally intuitive, and the scanner’s functions vary based on the specific vehicle it’s connected to. I suggest visiting Xtool’s website to check the diagnostics and special functions available for the cars you plan to use the tool to support at the following link…. https://www.xtooltech.com/english/ProductsView/D7W.html I tested the D7W on three different cars, a Toyota Prius V, a Toyota Yaris, and a Mazda 3. Each time I was impressed by its quick and accurate auto-detection. The bidirectional control feature worked flawlessly, allowing me to manually run the electric water pump to purge air from the coolant system after a change on the Prius V. Live data monitoring was excellent and can be exported as a file for reporting. Reports can be generated and emailed as PDF files or printed. I connected the scanner to my Apple laptop and the only thing I could access were pictures I captured the camera on the scanner which might be useful for reporting. My requests for support to Xtool has been very good with response back within 24 hours which met my expectations. They are also open to receive feedback regarding required updates and product improvements. Overall, the D7W left an excellent first impression. While I still have more to explore to fully utilize its extensive capabilities, its performance, ease of use, and wireless functionality make it a great low cost bidirectional scanner for DIY automotive diagnostics looking to expand their knowledge and grow beyond a code reader. Using the scanner one time to diagnose a problem will probably pay for itself verses using a dealer! Additional information: • Xtool continually provides functionality updates and I have been told that updates after the initial three years provided with the scanner are available for approximately $99/yr. • Xtool offers a borescope that works with the tablet for an additional $69.99 • The tablet will reset the TPMS on listed cars but you need a different tool to program new sensors to any car via another tool available from XTool.

I’m genuinely impressed with this OBD-II reader—it’s easily one of the best tools I’ve ever added to my car toolkit. First of all, the screen is fantastic: bright, clear, and easy to read. Navigating through the menus is smooth and straightforward, so you don’t waste time trying to figure things out when you need to get to work quickly. The range of features is what really makes this stand out. It doesn’t just read and clear codes—it also provides live data, advanced diagnostics, and even helpful suggestions for fixes. I also appreciate the thoughtful design. It charges via USB-C, which is such a nice touch since I don’t have to fumble with outdated charging cables. The package includes everything you need right out of the box, including a sturdy hard-shell case that keeps the reader well-protected. The case is compact enough to store in my car but strong enough to prevent damage during travel. It also has plenty of room inside the case for everything you need. One feature I didn’t even know I needed was the Bluetooth dongle. It plugs into the OBD-II port and lets the scanner work completely wirelessly. This has been a game-changer for me—it’s so convenient to move around the car without being tethered by a cable. I’ve tested it on several vehicles, including Toyota, Nissan, Chevrolet, and Kia, and it worked flawlessly with each one. The connection was quick, and it read the data with no issues whatsoever. It’s clear this tool is designed to work seamlessly with a wide range of vehicles, making it perfect for anyone with multiple cars or who frequently works on different brands. Overall, this OBD-II reader is worth every penny. Between the advanced features, the wireless functionality, and the high-quality build, it will quickly pay for itself in repair savings. I’d recommend it to anyone who wants a reliable and powerful diagnostic tool.

The product do. es most of what it is supposed to do. It is fairly fast. I had no issues with connectivity. However, I was trying to reset a hybrid system on a crashed 2023 RAV4 and while it connected to the car, it would only tell me the car had "detected the crash" and would not let me proceed. It would not say why. I had to tow the dealer to the dealer to reset the codes. I contacted Xtool for help, but never received a reply. In the end it was not the machine's inability to get the car started but the lack of support that gives it 3 stars. On other vehicles the machine worked well, though the user interface is a little clunky and complicated. It is not terrible, just not intuitive. I suppose in time I will get used to the user interface. Still on that point, I would NOT have deducted a star. I also think if the machine cannot reset a code, such as the crash code, then it should clearly state it cannot perform that function so your not left wondering if it is the machine or you causing the issue.
