Good value at the price, bought as a back-up for existing Console... Very happy with purchase.
The laser on my existing PS3 began developing a fault reading discs. It's a refurbished CECH-3003B model, at the same time as weighing up the cost of replacing the optical unit I started looking around for a replacement console - as things worked out, both came up - this console came in at only £30.00 more than a refurbished optical drive - I did the math and bought both for around what this console originally went on sale for. Happy with the purchase - unit's working, needed a bit of a clean but came with all the original cables and descent original PS3 Controller. Slightly older model than existing, a CECH-2004A but works well and is quieter than my existing one was before swapping the optical drive out. Only a 160GB HDD but 2.5 inch HDD's are seriously easy and, currently, cheap to swap out for something larger - so all in managed to both fix as well back up my existing game console for about what a PS3 refurbished console sells for. Goods arrived promptly in good time - have used seller before, always been satisfied with service - this has been no exception. Very happy with purchase.

Hackers
I bought this 9 months ago, and when i tried to sign into my PS store account a charge was taken from my bank, took me a week to resolve it. I was very causious so i did not play online i used my existing PS3. That has now broken and i am unable to now log into my account on this, never again.

Pad broken; Console great.
Got this as the birthday gift for my partner. The Console itself works a treat, but was very disappointing for my partner to find that the pad didn't work. We had to go out and buy a new one- NOT a impressive start to a birthday. Was also disappointed to find that the console was extremely dirty, and required careful cleaning.

Decent condition and working well.
Arriving early was a bonus, and my only negative to the wrapping was that a tag was stuck on the bubble wrap with the price of the console from cash converters, it did make me laugh though, and I do not begrudge anyone making a living. The console was as described and has been run for a few hours at a time over the days since it got here. Stable and keeping a good temperature, no glitching from the disc drive and the controller holding charge very well. Everything was clean and the leads were included, a plus was the hdmi cable rather than a composite cable, 90% of good tv and monitors have moved away from composites and scarts. Over all, it is exactly what was wanted, sensible price, and in excellent condition for age. If I require another ps I will be looking here first. A very good seller based on this experience, thank you.

Still the best games console available
I bought this for my son, to stop him from "borrowing" my old 60GB PS3. It's a much smaller and lighter version of my old style one, that's even quieter and uses less power. Obvious cutbacks are 2 USB ports instead of 4, no memory card slots and an inability to play PS2 games, but these all happened in previous versions of the PS3, so it's not a specific critisism to this model. There's a whole XBox/PS3 debate with fanboys from both sides claiming their console is the best, but when it comes to facts, the choice is clear. The hardware on the PS3 costs a bit more than the XBox, because it does more. BluRay, Wireless Networking, BlueTooth connectivity, easily upgradable standard hard disk are but a few benefits. The software interface is also very slick, with regular updates to add new features. This is important for BluRay users, as it keeps the player up-to-date with new standards. There are now hundreds of games out there, many cross-platform ones (available on PC, XBox and PS3) and loads of PS3-Only titles. There are far too many to argue who has the most titles available (if that were the case, my old PS3 would win as it can play all PS2 games, all 10,000 of them). The PS3 is so much more than a games console though. It slickly rips CD's and catagorizes them (so much better than Windows) so it's a darn good jukebox. You can import photographs, movies (DivX for example), download music and films and even create your own movies with EyeToy. This is a true multimedia entertainment centre. Oh, and in case you were in any doubt, it's got Little Big Planet.

Some exceptional games but PSN could do with some work.
I'm sure you all know about the competition between the PS3 and the Xbox 360, so I'll try to shed a little light on my opinion about how it fairs, and also if I think the PS3 is worth getting either way. Pros: iPlayer, some amazing exclusive games (Metal Gear Solid 4, Uncharted 2, Heavy Rain, 3D Dot Game Racers, Resistance 2, LittleBigPlanet, Motorstorm, God of War 3), Blu-ray, free multiplayer, built-in wireless adapter. Cons: Lack of backwards compatibility (as far as I know they've removed how much of it it actually had), Playstation Network - I'm finding it a bit slow and unstable, but that could be down to using it wirelessly. Controllers: Very nice; triggers are easy enough to get used to (although I do actually prefer the Xbox 360 ones), fits nicely into my hands, analogue sticks are more sensitive than the 360's but you get used to them too. PS3 vs. Xbox 360: I think it's down to personal preference really (I own both of them now). PS3 has the free multiplayer, Blu-ray and, in my opinion, better exclusives games...but Xbox Live is better in my opinion (and I don't necessarily mean lag in online games) and if you're buying it for a child/teenager then you might want to get them an Xbox 360 because they'll have more chance of finding friends to play with online (but to be sure of that you'd have to ask them which their friends have).

The best PS3 you can buy!
Having owned the olderr PS3 units (all of which eventually died with the Yellow LED failure) I toyed with the newer slim units with their cost cut case and blu ray door. I choose to look at the earlier slim model and have no regrets. The best looking of the PS3s, it retains the quality feel of the original units but i a lower power slimmer configuration. Very pleased I didn't go for the newer versions.
