Give First, Grow Fast: Mo Bunnell’s Formula Works
Give to Grow by Mo Bunnell is a practical guide that flips the traditional sales script on its head. Instead of pushing products or services, Bunnell shows how focusing on genuine relationships, generosity, and value creation leads to sustainable business growth. What I appreciated most is how the book blends mindset, methodology, and actionable steps. Bunnell doesn’t just tell you to “give”—he teaches how to give strategically, in ways that build trust, loyalty, and long-term success. His system aligns perfectly with modern business values: serve first, build authentic relationships, and let growth follow naturally.

Customer-centric has a true handbook
I have read a number of books on sales - from Gitomer to Ziglar. I only wish Mo had written “Give to Grow” sooner. I was fortunate enough to go through GrowBig training a number of years back, so I was familiar with and used many of the concepts outlined in this great handbook. It’s great to see it all in one nice neat package. Well done Mo!If you’re looking for one reference on how to do “customer success” (aka selling) right, look no further than the bright blue book of applicable wisdom - Give to Grow.Full disclosure: I was not compensated for this review (maybe I should be though - haha) and I’m not an AI (yet anyway).

A sales book with dozens of nuggets and a truly inspirational view on selling for a living
Mo Bunnell, the author of this book, sent me an advanced copy of it a few months ago. I’ve known Mo for two years, ever since he invited me to talk about my book on his podcast.I’ve read Mo’s book, and I urge everyone to read it – especially (but not just only) salespeople/business developers in professional services firms. I think his advice is germane to any salesperson, regional sales manager, and chief sales officer whose company is selling to other businesses. The reason this is an important book is because Mo dissects WHY the best sales approaches in business revolve around creating a bond with customers and potential customers – one in which the salesperson continually looks for ways to be helpful to customers and prospects. As Mo says, “The best performers focus on long-term relationships, always creating wins for everyone involved.”There are so many nuggets in this book. They include “fall in love with their problem” (which requires asking lots of questions, paraphrasing the client’s problem so you get it, they get that you get it); design your first questions so that a prospect enjoys answering them; and continuing selling when you’re busy (but let clients know you’re busy and will set aside time for them). As Mo writes: “Being in demand sends a stronger signal about your worth than your qualifications, representative work, bio, and prestige of who you work for.”Dozens of such gems, written in enjoyable prose, makes this book well worth buying.

Relationships make the world go round
You need this book. You may not think you are in sales, but at the end of the day everybody relies on relationships to help them through life. And you probably could be doing more good in the world if you had a framework by which to strategically manage your relationships.Tell me if this sounds familiar: You've worked with someone for a few years and consider them decent professional friend. Then one day, one of your emails goes unanswered. You wait a week, maybe two, and still nothing. You assume they were too busy and bit by bit that relationship erodes in your head. This happens to most of us. But here's the thing--the ball is always in your court. I won't spoil the book because there's too many gold nuggets to just recap in a review, but Mo got me "unstuck"---and it's not the first time. In Give to Grow, Mo reminds us that we always have the capacity to be strategically helpful to people; to give without any expectation of anything in return. It turns out that the more engaged, thoughtful, and helpful you are, the more opportunities find their way to your doorstep (or inbox). This book is for anybody that wants to widen their network, create more meaningful relationships, and become a valuable friend and confidant to those they serve. I'd imagine that cover just about all of us : )

A Masterclass in Relationships as the Foundation of Long-Term Business Success
I love this book. I LOVE this book. Pragmatic, acknowledges and breaks down barriers to progress (and success), plain English and so much more. Mo SHOWS the reader, guiding us on a journey complete with scripts, great data visualization and pragmatic real-world exemplars. He includes numerous questions, which are critical to learning what others need us to give in order to help them grow. Just fantastic.
