Superb quality and value.
Excellent quality solid construction. I thought it was metal but it's plastic. Powered hub works perfect, also the USB connection's are firm and solid, ie no wiggle when your device's are connected.

Works okay as long as USB2 is okay for you.

Well worth the extra money as I have managed to work my way through several cheaper versions from different brands. I'll certainly stick to StarTech products from now on, well built and work well.

Dead
This hub was purchased to power my Raspberry Pi micro-computer and peripherals.When I powered up the Pi using the hub and a USB-MicroUSB lead, the image on screen was constantly breaking up and I couldn't connect to any external device on USB.Since then I tried a Kindle OEM power supply and the Pi on-screen image was 100% stable. Conclusion - Hub power not stable.I then connected the peripherals direct to the Pi, and they are accessible. Conclusion - Hub not working at all.I will not touch StarTech again.

Star Tech USB HUB. Faulty Power Supply.
I bought this to use with some Astronomy equipment via a laptop PC.The first one lasted only four nights before packing up.I requested a replacement which duly arrived. But that one only lasted three hours. This time it was connected to my PC in my control room. Both the hubs were mains powered.Each time I was able to trace the fault to the supplied 5v power supply. I have two industrial USB hubs from Star Tech. So I was a little surprised to have two hubs from them, that were faulty.

Excellent, and works well
Excellent, and works well. The only downside is that as it is very light it often gets dragged off the desk.

Excellent.
I use this item to run several external memories from a Humax recorder. The startech power supply resolved earlier unreliability and I have purchased another. A very well made piece of kit and good value.

USB Hub mit etwas anderen Ausstattung
Gut:- 3x USB Anschlüsse hinten ideal für z.B. Maus, Tastatur, WebCam man hat kein Kabelsalat nach vorn!- USB Typ-B-Stecker zum verbindenNicht so gut:- Stromadapter mit englischer Fassung!!! davon stand nichts in der Beschreibung!- Verarbeitung des Hubs, (billige hochglanz Plastik)- manchmal werden die USB Sticks nicht erkannt, aber das konnte an meinen langen USB Kabel zum HUB liegen
