Beautiful rain drum with quality sounds. Its so pretty I'm not sure I will take it out in the rain.The booklet easily explains how to tune the instrument if needed and has some fun songs to try. The number arrangement on the drum is not in numerical order so it does take some getting used to - practice makes perfect. My 2 youngest grandsons liked making their own sounds unlike my older one who liked the booklet to follow.This is a high quality instrument for the price I paid to have a calming activity for 3 busy boys and a grandmother to enjoy.

This little steel tongue drum is absolutely wonderful! The sound is soothing, clear, and surprisingly rich for its size. It’s very easy to play, even for beginners, and comes with everything needed including mallets, a carrying bag, and a music book. I love using it for relaxation and meditation, and it creates such a calming atmosphere. The build quality feels solid and the design is beautiful. Definitely worth it and makes a great gift too!

A lot larger than expected. Really well made. I got it for a rain drum but it can also be played with mallets(provided) and the booklet has little songs with directions on how to play them. How cute. Since it wasn’t raining when it arrived, I tested it with the water hose. It sounds really cute and relaxing. It comes with two mallets, extra numbers, and a mallet holder as well as a little instruction, FAQ booklet. I really like it and cannot wait until our first rain storm. Made very well and durable. I got the black one. It also comes in a cute little storage bag and a yellow cleaning cloth. I put a pencil in the photo to compare the size of the mallets and my hand as a comparison to the size. Pretty cute little thing I never knew I needed!

This has a wonderful and rich sound … it will be fun learning to play it. It’s also a very calming experience to hear.

For Christmas, I decided to get two of these mini 6 inch, steel-tongue drums in deep green; one for each for my grown daughters in their 20’s. Both are creatives, and just love making and listening to music!You can choose to play the drum with the two mallets included (along with their rest stand), or with your fingers. There are 8 notes which can be tuned by either slightly lifting or pressing down on each individual “tongue”.Even better, it comes with an excellent instruction guide/music book with songs to play. The final items which are thoughtfully included are a strip of stickers with duplicate numbers for each note, and a great durable black bag to store it all.The only “odd” thing I noticed was there is no number “8” note on the drum. Instead, there are two numeral “1’s” but one has a “•”dot above the number “1”. After pondering it, I realized one of those notes is probably just an octave higher than the regular “1” note. It’s really no problem once you figure that out.😊This cute drum has three round rubber “legs” making it very stable. The drum is sturdy and well made with a good weight to it, but it’s hollow inside as it should be.It’s well powder coated with a waterproof and scratch resistant paint that protects it from heavy usage and rusting. In the long run, this will help keep the tones sounding beautiful for a long time. Therefore, you can generate your own music, or use it outdoors as a “rain drum” for nature to make her own song. Now how freaking cool is that!There have been various studies showing that vibrations of certain sounds can actually help heal our minds and bodies. In fact, using “sound baths” was a popular treatment in VA hospitals during the 1940’s.The ethereal tones which this drum emanates can easily be incorporated into a meditation session. Humming or chanting along with the notes can help you relax too.Overall, this little steel drum is an object which has the magical ability of holding your interest, reducing your stress, and sparking your creativity for hours! I would highly recommend it as an unusual and thoughtful gift for anyone, at an extremely affordable price! They are a big hit with my kids, and I’ll probably get one for myself as well.

I absolutely love this little tongue drum! The sound is so soothing and clear, perfect for meditation or just relaxing at home. The size is compact but still produces a surprisingly rich tone. It comes with mallets, a carry bag, and even a small music book which makes it easy to start playing right away. Definitely a great gift idea and I’m so glad I bought it.

I originally got this rain drum for my son because he had asked for one and he loves to play music and I love the sound of rain drums, it's so relaxing. This drum is the perfect size, nice and sturdy. It came in a black bag, with a music book and mallets. I love how versatile it is whether outside in a garden, on a patio or indoors it adds a touch of serenity wherever it's placed.

The media could not be loaded. Nice toy, but only 5-6 out of the 8 notes make that nice, satisfying steel drum sound. The two highest notes sound out of tune and muffled. It's a very easy instrument to learn though; I taught myself this song in about ten minutes. Great toy for a kid, because unlike something like a violin they can't really be "out of tune." It's just very unsatisfying to get to the end of this song and not have a nice, clear pitch at the end. Also, if you don't know how steel drums work, they only have one scale--its why it's particularly good for this "doe, a deer" song, which is built off a major scale. If you want any sharp or flat notes, you are out of luck. The plus side is that most of the notes sound pretty harmonious together. The downside is that you will have a hard time learning a good selection of familiar tunes.
