Bone conducting headphones with bass?! Hell yea!
These headphones are the real deal. They are comfortable, easy to use, and the sound quality is amazing. I usually only use over ear headphones because I need to feel the bass to really enjoy my music. I decided to try these so I could still hear my surroundings at work, and I am honestly pleasantly surprised. The sound quality is far better than I expected. I used the app to switch to bass boost, but there are several EQ options depending on what sound you prefer, which is awesome. I have tried bone conduction headphones before and while the concept was cool, I could never get past the poor sound quality. These completely changed that for me. I have taken a few calls using these and from what I can tell, people hear me crystal clear. I also have no trouble hearing them on my end, even in a work setting. I got the mini version and it fits perfectly around my head with no extra space. They are comfortable enough to wear all day without any issues. The only downside is that they are not comfortable to lay down with. The pressure pushes the headset and makes it uncomfortable around the ears, which is a bit of a shame. Battery life seems pretty solid. I turn the music on and off throughout the day, so it is not playing constantly, but by the end of my shift the battery usually sits around medium, which looked to be about 70 percent when I checked. As far as value for money goes, I cannot say whether they are worth full price for everyone. What I can say is that these are top quality, so you can decide what that is worth to you. I picked these up on sale for about 115 dollars and for me, that was absolutely worth it. Overall, I am very happy with these and it is awesome that I can finally enjoy this style of headphones without sacrificing sound quality.

Great general purpose headset - good for comfort, audio and battery life
This is the one to get, for general purpose Bluetooth headsets. The combination of bone conduction and speakers in front of your ears, not pointed into them, works great. My previous one was a single ear, in-ear type, which became annoying and uncomfortable. This one is comfortable and doesn't get in the way of environmental sound to my ear. The voice on the phone just appears in my head. It's great being able to work with my hands while I talk on the phone or listen to music, podcasts, etc. Music - I'm a sound engineer, and this is fine for casual music listening. You're not going to get deep bass or audiophile detail in music, and it's no substitute for good closed-back headphones, but it's mostly balanced and good enough. I use the Standard setting in the app. The Volume Boost setting doesn't seem to do much at all. The Classic setting, which is bone-conduction only and takes more battery power, doesn't sound as good. I tried other EQ settings, including the 5 band custom one, and I usually stay with Standard. If you need to use the bass or treble boost settings, there's probably something wrong with the source audio. Volume - music volume maxes out just a little before I wish it did. It's not super loud, but it's plenty in a quiet environment. Using it on a bicycle or with significant wind, you'd probably want to put a headband over it, and even then, it may not be loud enough. For podcasts or phone calls, volume is better; no issues with it not being loud enough yet. Phone - Clarity is good, on both ends. The tone is a little low-mid-rangey, as if there's a 400 Hz EQ bump, but voices are generally accurate and clear. Listeners on the other end may hear voices on a TV in the background, but not much of environmental noise like running water or wind. I can talk on the phone and wash dishes in the sink, and it's not a problem. I still need to test if someone on the phone can hear it when I pee. Practical stuff - Battery life is good, say two days with moderate use. I use magnetic USB-C cords where the tip stays in the device, it works for easy charging. It comes with a pretty good case, about the size of two beer cans side by side. Not something you can put in your pocket, and you probably wouldn't want to carry it without the case. But it's comfy enough to just wear it around. Overall, thumbs up from me, especially on sale.

I can’t believe I haven’t already left a review! Love them!
You alone will know why an open ear headset might be something you’d want. So let me just focus on the function of these. Battery life is epic. I mean all day. I use them all day a lot of the time. Comfort is excellent. As I said, sometimes I wear them all day. I barely know they are there. In fact, sometimes I forget they are there. sizing is something we need to talk about. I am 6 feet tall and have a normal sized head I suppose and the mini ones fit me perfectly. I also have short hair so keep that in mind. The reason this is important is because the standard ones might give me a little more freedom without getting tight. I really don’t care about that because the minis allow me to sit in a chair without being uncomfortable when I put my head against the pillow. They can also be used in bed. In fact, sometimes I sleep all night long with these on, and they are still there when I wake up. If you can wear the mini and have a little bit of distance between your neck and head and you don’t have to look up a lot, get the mini! Otherwise get the standard ones and be aware that you probably won’t be able to put the back of your head against anything without removing them. Yes, you can pull them down and put them around your neck and they will stay there until you are ready to put them back over your ears. The sound is excellent. Especially once you download the app and boost the base a little. That is the essential feature of these with the extra speakers. However, they work just fine without the extra speakers as long as you were fine with a little treble. Since I normally listen. to podcasts, it doesn’t matter to me. I am just listening to some person‘s voice most of the time. However, if you use them in the classic mode, which means you are just getting the bone conduction, be aware that when you turn it up to a higher volume, you may feel some buzzing on your temples. I suppose I could look up the IP rating for these. I don’t know what it is. But I’ve worn them in the rain and not had any difficulties. USB-C charging is clutch! And I saved the best for last. The microphone call quality and noise, cancellation or voice isolation is really top notch. I mean, handset quality. I really prefer using these for telephone calls over AirPod earphones. These things blocked out a crowing rooster! I mean, wow! i’ve been using them for a few months and they seem to be pretty durable. No problems. The case that they come in is very nice and they charge quickly. I really don’t have a downside for these except maybe it would be nice to have the microphone extension Like the other model. But then again, the voice quality on these is so good. I don’t think I need it and that would just be something else in the way. I got these on sale. I don’t know what they cost right now. But if it is within your budget and you are considering them, just hit the buy button because they were great.

Throw Away All Your Old Headsets - THIS IS THE ONE YOU WANT!
The first thing I need to say is just get it!! This is such an awesome product and it is worth the price. The quality and functionality are superb, plus I love the simplicity because it's so easy to operate with the multi-function button. The sound is outstanding and the app gives you the capability to increase the base, the treble and overall volume among other things. These bone conduction headphones are the only way to go because your ears are left uncovered so you can hear other things going on around you, but at the same time doesn't really detract from the music you're listening to or even a phone conversation. Speaking of phone conversations, the built-in microphone is excellent and your phone calls are clear and crisp without any outside interference, whether you're talking or listening. This feature is just as good or better than the overall sound quality when music is playing. I was especially drawn to this device because I have an issue with the anatomy of my ears. For whatever reason I could never get earbuds to stay in my ears. Much as I tried they would always fall out which was extremely frustrating. Finally my doctor told me I fell into about 10% of the population that has this same problem, so the only solution for me was the over ear style. One last thing I need to mention is the sizing. Specifically the standard versus the mini. I'm a male, 5'11" and weigh 180lbs with basically a normal head and short hair. Based on some other reviews I got the mini and I'm glad I did. It's a perfect fit without too much play in the back of my head. I can easily move my head up, down and all around and the headphones stay in place with a great deal of comfort. Therefore, I would only recommend the standard size to someone with a larger head or someone with a lot of hair in the back of their head because you need the extra space provided by the standard size. Obviously I'm thrilled with this product and know you will be too!

Love them and both another pair for girlfriend
Very comfortable and wear them daily for hours even with glasses on. I've found it preferable to have them resting on top or out side of glasses arms. They tend to last all day with constant use at home and work. Sound is pretty good but, not great at higher volume as the bass seems capped at lower levels Love them and even bought a pair for girlfriend and she loves them as well. They're perfect for listening but, being able to hear around you as well at the same time to keep alert. Pause/play/skip button works well and easy to find. Volume up/power button works decently. Some times its hard to press just right and hold to turn on/off. Annoying issue is if music/audio is paused you can't adjust volume if no sound is coming through.

Phenomenal!!!!
Phenomenal! I am active and my AirPod’s have almost been lost many times. Luckily they drop into my kayak and not the lakes or rivers. These Shokz Open Run Pro 2 headphones are so comfortable and so secure. The quality of the sound is great and I can still hear everything that is going on around me. They are so secure fitting and so comfortable that I often forget that they are on until a call comes in. The charging and battery life is insanely long. I can use them the entire day from 5:00 AM to 11:00PM and I will often still have over 70% charge left. If I am listening to music or audio books I am still over 50 %. The headphones did stop turning on after 8 months. I called Shokz customer service and they too were phenomenal! They actually listened and sought to understand my concerns. They sent it to warranty and they approved a new headphone to be sent in less than a day. My youngest son turned me on to these. He had an earlier model and abuses his because of the kind of work he does and has had them for over almost 2 years with no technical issues. He does not have the length of charge I have though. I wholeheartedly would recommend these to anyone who is active and understands how AirPods drop.

Excellent mid-price point bone conduction headphones
These headphones were a game changer for me. The sound is great amd I can still hear ambient noise which keeps me safer on my runs. They hold a charge for many hours of use and charge very quickly when low. Very lightweight and comfortable. Zero issues connecting to my phone and the on/off and volume buttons are responsive and easy to use on the move. The only thing that would make these even more perfect is a skip song button or option so I don't have to perfectly curate my playlists. That's the one thing I miss about my earbuds. Highly recommend.

A fantastic device with one major setback
As soon as I started encountering multiple problems from my AirPods Pro 2 after 2 years of abusive use, I was in the market for some alternatives. Some of the features I prioritize in wireless earbuds are long battery life, good sound quality, simple and consistent Bluetooth connectivity, and ease of use. After some research, I came across the OpenRun Pro 2 with many reviews stating its improved sound quality compared to its predecessor. I was initially hesitant given by its high price tag and my unfamiliarity with the SHOKZ brand, but I decided to give their flagship product a shot. Here are some of my thoughts after 4 months of use. I went to the SHOKZ website to print out their measuring guide to decide between their standard and mini variants. I was a good half-inch over the cutoff limit for the mini. I still decided to buy the mini after reading some reviews expressing some discomfort with the standard size. The mini fits snugly on the back of my head, leaving room for two fingers to fit in-between. Sure, the headband doesn't droop down to the nape as intended by the cover pictures. Needless to say, I think I made the right decision with the size. The packaging is excellent with the OpenRun Pro 2 arriving fully charged in a moderately sized silicone case. I have never once used the case in my 4 months of use, optioning to throw the headband naked into my cramped backpack while commuting. The headphone still holds up fine after daily torture. The controls are arguably intuitive with the volume rocker on the right side and the function control button on the left. You use your right thumb to control the volume and the labels protrude slightly so you know which button to press by feel. The function control button is on the left side next to the driver near the temple with 1 press for play/pause, 2 presses for next track, and 3 presses for previous track. Long press will activate the virtual assistant. I am very impressed with the battery life of this product. With moderate use at half volume, I can easily exceed 12 hours without needing to charge compared to 2-3 hours from my AirPods Pro 2. I have absolutely no complaints with battery management here. Bluetooth connectivity is also impressive, allowing me to walk around the house and my backyard with minimal dropouts. Multipoint pairing on this device is the best I have seen so far. I can seamlessly switch between my phone and my computer with the controls responding to the connected host currently playing any media. Latency is also not an issue at all. I am very particular with sound quality, and the OpenRun Pro 2 meets my expectation. The treble is crystal clear. The bass is quite lean and well-controlled, but the sub-bass doesn't extend far enough to be audible without EQ. Timbre sounds natural, but it can sound a bit "glassy" at times. While their mobile app is easy to navigate with product guides and online firmware updates, nearly all of their EQ presets are terrible. Bass boost is very muddy and bloated. Vocal is inferior to the classic preset. Treble boost straight up hurts my ears. My custom 5-band EQ is +3 and +2 on their 1st and 2nd band respectively and I tone down the 3kHz band by -1. Stick with either the standard or classic presets if needed. I often use my AirPods Pro 2 to listen to podcasts and audiobooks on the bed before going to sleep. As a side-sleeper, the OpenRun Pro 2 has been nothing short of amazing! With the excellent sound quality and battery life, I can watch YouTube videos or listen to audiobooks with my ear pressed against the pillow with little to no discomfort. The headband will still be on my head by the time I wake up. I can set an alarm without disturbing family members with the drivers next to my ears. This is a terrific sleeping aid for side-sleepers. My biggest complaint by far with the OpenRun Pro 2 has to be the volume control. I wish there is more variability of sound intensity with the discrete volume control, especially between 30-40% volume. I will often walk around my neighborhood late at night, jamming through my music playlist with little ambient noise. At 30%, the volume intensity is too quiet to enjoy the music, but stepping up one unit results in the device suddenly being too loud. It's as if they opted to switch the gain at those levels and it disappoints me to hear this issue persist despite multiple firmware updates. There is never a sweet spot of volume intensity between 30-40%. Overall, it has been a pleasure to use the OpenRun Pro 2. The headband fits nicely around my head. The sound quality is impressive. Battery life is spectacular! And it is forever anointed on my head as I sleep. There are some features I have yet to test such as microphone quality, sweat resistance, and bone conductivity. Yes, classic mode uses bone conductivity, but I have not used that preset enough to fully develop solid opinions. I guess if you want a more mid-forward tonality, then go with classic, however, my custom preset has been sufficient enough for daily use. If they could somehow fix the volume issue, I would absolutely recommend this product to anyone looking for a substitute wireless earbud/headphone if their budget supports it.
