I filled this Beast with 300 yards of 30 lb braid and a 20lb Floro leader. This is an all Aluminum Frame reel and well built... The drag is smooth and for the Max drag on this reel is awesome for the price compared to other makers with same max drag settings. Reels of this caliber can be very expensive and for that alone with the quality value you get from this Spinner its hard to beat....NOT a Largemouth Bass reel you will wear your arm out....

10-15 lb bull reds does them all with superior aplomb. I don't think about the reel
Smooth, predictable, reliable, very competent. Adjectives can't describe it. Small 6 inch surf perch to 30 pound stripers, 50 lb bat rays, 10-15 lb bull reds does them all with superior aplomb. I don't think about the reel and I don't worry about the reel failing. Does what everyone who fishes wishes their reel would do. Stay hidden, out of thought and second thought. Operates without hesitation or opinion like a model wife should do. This one achieves easily. Why didn't I buy earlier...30 pounds of drag and nearly waterproof Fin-Nor has produced a model mid-sized reel. Good looking and easily adjustable.

Was a good reel till the 3rd cast
Was a good reel till the 3rd cast. I might have just got a bad one. Returned it to Amazon will be getting a Penn Spinfisher V to replace it.

It is a very good real for the money
It is a very good real for the money. I use it for casting plugs and the occasional chunk to stripers in the East Coast. I do not like the big football handle knob, it is very 'plasticky' and too big for small sized hands. The line lay is great and the drag is smooth. The 60 size is about right for a 9 or 10 surf foot rod.

Wouldn't buy another one!
Too freaking big and heavy for any kind of fresh water fishing! Maybe good for shark fishing? ??

Powerful and smooth reel
i wanted a spinning reel for kayak fishing offshore on the Texas gulf coast. I looked at the Fin Nor offshore reel but it was so big and clunky that I decided against it. I found the Lt-60 and it looked like the right size. I have used it to catch several 40 inch kingfish and jack fish with 20 lb mono. The drag is powerful and had no problem when these fish would strip line off the reel. ( is there a better sound than when a fish strikes and starts ripping line off your reel?)I like this reel so much I plan to buy another one...or two.

Love all 3 Fin-Nors!!!
Great Reel! Comparable to my old(early 1970's) Daiwa Silvers(I have 5 of them). The 3 Fin-Nors(40-60-100) I have are lighter and smoother! Only downside is that all the new reels(any brand it seems) you can't turn-off the anti-reverse.

acerca del fin-nor lethal 60
Este carrete es muy robusto, aunque algo pesado, pero funciona muy bien para surfcasting, como para trolear y jiggear, trabaja muy bien con linea trenzada de 30 libras. muy recomendable

Strong and heavy
I am super impressed with my LT60. It is the largest reel I've used. It doesn't feel as buttery-smooth as a Spinfisher V, but nearly as smooth as a Battle II. It is a different style in the fact it feels more purpose-built. It isn't silent and isn't buttery smooth, but it is still decent at both. It feels ridiculously strong. I put a complete 300yd spool of 30lb PowerPro braid and still fit a 50lb 10ft fluoro leader with room to spare. The drag seems very strong, but I haven't had the pleasure of testing it on anything monstrous yet. I tested this while fishing in Cuba for 10 days and it held up well. I had no intention of ever submerging it, but I had a couple rogue waves change my mind. I rinsed it in fresh water after every day and it still looks and works like knew (minus some scratches from sitting on lava rock). So far so good. I still can't believe it was only a hundred dollars.
