Good item - just calibrate
I wrote this item for my parents when I took away their old weather station and gave them an Amazon echo show eight instead. They like it for the camera and for some features, but they really just missed having the humidity and the interior temperature showing at all times on the screen so I got them this unit since I did not need to put a device in my window or outside for it to tell the outside temperature. This is also an air quality monitor, which was an incredible bonus! I have nothing but appreciation for the device except for a rather Sterling, and then funny scare as soon as I turned it on. All of a sudden, the carbon monoxide levels went to at least triple what is acceptable and there was a an alarm beeping that did not want to stop. Of course I did not read the instructions prior to using it the first time; who ever does that? Lol 😆The joke was a middle though, because it was later in the evening. My parents have gone to bed, and I was leaving or thought I was going to leave, and I got the scare of my month, thinking that the carbon monoxide was at a poisonous level. Indeed it was not, the unit does require to sit outside on a flat open surface for about 8 to 10 minutes before using it or getting any accurate carbon monoxide readings. Soon as I found that in the directions, I took the device outside turn it off turn it back on let it calibrate and ever since that date it’s been great!my other favorite factor about this particular air monitor is that it is wireless. There is a rechargeable battery, so sometimes you do need to plug it in to charge the battery, but not having to have it plugged in with an unsightly cord hanging off the edge of the table at all times is a huge plus for me! I have a $1100 Dyson air quality monitor/ purifier & the numbers on this device match up extremely close to what my Dyson says, so I trust that this is accurate. I will be getting at least one or two more for my own house.

Essential for Asthma Management and Home Air Quality Monitoring
This air quality monitor has truly helped me manage my asthma more effectively. It gives accurate, real-time readings of PM2.5, VOCs, carbon monoxide, humidity, and temperature. Since using it, I’ve been able to understand what triggers changes in my indoor air and take action quickly. The color-coded light is super helpful—it instantly shows whether the air is good or needs attention. Overall, it gave me peace of mind and made my home feel safer and healthier.

The manual doesn't explain how to understand the readings. If they are even accurate.
This meter does check levels of contaminates but it leaves the user in the dark on some things. The units are not what the average user will hear reported by local weather station in the USA. The best use of the meter is to see if an action improves your air quality. then you can check if you are going in the right direction. that's about all it seems to be good at.If you are hyper allergic to dust this meter is not for you. It is optimistic in how it reports the particulate levels. Once you get down low enough, the units are too coarse to be of good use. The dylos particulate meter uses a much smaller unit and with show a much bigger number. This may not look helpful, but if you want to know how far the reading is between 1 and 2 the dylos will show you and this one won't.The other types of readings are not very well described. I had to search google to find out what the abbreviations meant. This is very typical of Chinese goods. They assume everyone that want to monitor air quality is already and expert in the terminology and don't bother to define terms or to explain abbreviations. In the end you will probably end up buying a much better meter to replace this one if you are serious about accuracy.

Worked for about three months.
Purchased this on November 2024 (four months ago. Worked well for three months then the AQI, the most important metric, no longer works and just reads zero regardless. Including when our Woodstove lets out smoke and I place it nearby to see if that would trigger it (did not). Would be nice if this still worked. Not sure how to get a refund.

The item I didn't know I needed but now can't live without!
I got this air quality monitor thinking it would just be something nice to read my temperature and humidity, but it’s been way more helpful than I expected. I can walk around with it and I can see which rooms need attention since it updates really fast when the air changes. It’s made is so much easier for me to figure out where I need our purifier or humidifier at the current time (it’s a constant battle controlling my temperature at home). The display is bright and easy to read, which I like, but it might be a little bright at night for some people. You can always adjust the brightness though so it doesn’t bother me. It feels really solid and well made compared to the cheaper one’s I’ve got in the past, so I’m not worried about it breaking anytime soon. It’s simple to use and does exactly what I need.I live in a basement apartment where things change quick so I have to use this daily so it’s very useful. Besides checking the air quality on so many levels with stats, it’s helped me understand what’s going on in the house in each individual area. Definitely worth it!

Nice tool, battery life is bad.
If you want to run this continuously, as on a display shelf, plan on having plugged it in, as the battery only last 25-36 hours.
