Durable, compact, long distance, pinpoint, not cheap!
Bought this in 2022 and I still have and use it today!I love this little flashlight. Its small and compact but it packed quite the punch! It can see things real far away that your average flashlight cant but thats bc its purposely made to be more if a pinpoint projection. It also has some other handy features like shining its absolute brightest brightness, a strobe function to act as a deterrent and an SOS pattern. Other than that it's a very simple operation, one button that changes colors to tell you what it's doing and it has a built-in dust cover to protect the charging port and give you a longer life out of it. Its a little heavy for its size but I like that bc it makes it feel durable and worthy, not cheap like all the others. However I see they want $30 more now than what I paid back in 2022, unless they somehow upgraded it since, I don't think I would want to pay 80 bucks for it now.

The beam might be visible from space.
Several things to note about this mighty little flashlight. First, its beam is ridiculously bright and will light up things a football field away. Second, it's tiny. Third, it charges on USB-C...but only USB-C that is USB to USBC. When the battery ran out, I tried to charge it via my Macbook Pro's USB-C charging cable. No dice. I reached out to ThruNite customer support, and they'd clearly seen the issue before. Got back to me within hours, explained the problem clearly, and that I should use the charging cable (other USB to USB-C cables work as well). So now I'm back to lighting up stuff way down the street while walking the dog.

Super focused hotspot
This was a blind buy for me from a brand I've purchased before, so my expectation of build quality is on par with the rest of their lights. This little EDC thrower has a super focused hot spot, that even the firefly/nightlight setting is visible across the room during the day, where the sun isn't shining of course. I find the light useful when tracking things at night. Say a drone in the night sky..but once it lands and you are in the general area searching...the tight focused beam makes locating it a bit more work compared to a flood or not as tightly focused. Where it's worked well for me is smaller spaces...behind the seat of a movie theatre after the movies over, in the car (even as a passenger in a moving car), etc. All in all great build, bright light, love the USB-C charging, and really..a wrist strap that actually fits an adults hand.

if the battery is loose, stretch the spring a little.
Just bought my second one since I lost the first. Very bright and small even with the extension tube on. Bright strobe effect. Love the extension tube to be able to use an 18650. On this particular one though I had to reach in with a needle nose pliers and extend/stretch the spring in the base. (And yes, the light is fully screwed shut.) Seems like this particular spring was out of spec. This particular unit had extra play inside the battery tube causing the light to flicker and go on and off like there was a short. After the quick fix the light is perfect. No more loose battery.

I have seen the future, and it is bright
This thing is absurd, in a good way. It is small enough you could take it backpacking, and it has a throw distance and punch that even a full-sized light from just a few years ago couldn't possibly match.I have the full-sized version of the Catapult, and yes it is more powerful than this tiny little light. But the full-sized version is about 3x as large, and isn't anywhere near 3x as powerful, at least to my eyes. This is like the perfect light for your car or an emergency kit, because it is the power of a quite large and beastly flashlight from just a few years back in a very compact package. It won't last as long as the bigger lights with much bigger batteries, but it has another nice party trick: "firefly" mode which is normally so dim you can barely use it for anything, is quite useful on this light. If you think of firefly mode on this as equivalent to a mini Mag Light from back in the day, you aren't far off. So you get a normal flashlight with a very good run time in firefly, or this little pocket flamethrower of a thing if you need to crank it.The technology of flashlights seems to be improving so quickly that things most people would have thought impossible just a few years ago are not only possible but easily accessible.
