An adapter not often needed but works perfectly when it is!
I used this to connect an older model Mercury Elite Pro Dual RAID enclosure (with Thunderbolt 2 port) to my new MacBook Pro's Thunderbolt port. Works perfectly.

Primary missions accomplished, though there's a fly in the soup for tablet use.
My primary goal was to connect an Apple Thunderbolt display to an M1 Mac Mini. The adapter worked for that purpose without issue.My secondary goal was to connect that display to an M1 iPad pro. Also worked.My tertiary goal was to have the iPad remain charged while displaying. Did not work. I assume because the display doesn't provide power over Thunderbolt 2 (does that even support power transfer?) or the adapter doesn't support it if it does. Also because, unlike Apple's HDMI to USB-C adapter, this one has no second input into which a power source can be provided.
