The latch was substantial and installed easily. In my case , I needed a latch to keep the gate next to the house simply closed…..not for security reasons. I was tired of the lawn people breaking the spring loaded self locking latch that was on the door and this one worked perfectly.

Smooth Operator
This is perfect- smooth operation and sturdy. Our last latch was flimsy and bent as the gate shuffled with windstorms, making it impossible to latch again. Then one doesn’t feel like it will bend so I expect it to last a long time.
