Does what I want......well
I installed this unit on a 2013 Ford Focus ST hatchback. I wanted to see better out the back due to the port hole type view of small rear window and with rear headrest obstruction. Installation was easy but the usual hassle of hiding / passing wires. I bought the hard wire add a fuse option and it was just long enough to reach from the driver side rear fuse box, where I tapped into the reverse light. I mounted the high quality aluminum enclosure camera up under the large spoiler at the top of the hatch. I do not need to see the ground or a trailer hitch, so my vision from this mount is about 3 feet behind rear bumper. I get a very rear view mirror like view on the panel but way wide field of view. Any vehicle that is leaving the field of view of the camera is visible with simple turn of head and is just passing rear wheel. Really no blind spot. The low light capability is much better than what my eyes see using any mirror. Blackness to my eyes is a grainy gray scale image - way better than blackness. Have not looked at recordings. Front camera view is brighter and not as warm regarding color balance. Time from pushing power on button for the car to functioning image on the panel is right at 10 seconds. . I push button, then fasten seat belt and pretty much ready to go. I position the mirror / panel parallel to the dash and up to avoid reflected mirror images from competing with the panel image. I am viewing from a small angle left and lower than the mirror. My primary goal was backup camera and use of camera instead of mirror out porthole field of view. The unit does this very well. The only unintended consequence is that of the IPS panel now using near vision as opposed to looking out mirror being distance vision. When near sighted correction sunglasses are used, I must use bifocal to focus on the IPS panel - lifting head way up to get the bifocal up at top of windshield. Also depth of field is absent with monocular vision of the camera. AS long as this unit holds up for a reasonable time period, really good purchase. Functionality is better than 2011 Ford F150 backup camera, but not as good as 2017 Acura.

This is a great product with just some minor tweaking needed.
This camera system is one of the best I have seen so far. There are just some minor changes that I see when it comes to configuring for my type of vehicle. To be able to record on a constant loop and to have a great view from the rear camera is what makes this product top notch. I am very pleased and how well the cameras are made and how easy it is to install in a vehicle. I would recommend this system to anyone that have younger drivers in their family. When you download and use the included DVR program, this product pays for itself. You not only see where you drove but also see and hear the video and how the car was driven. There are so many included features to this system that make this a worthwhile product. Below are my favorite features:Favorite Features:1. The lane departure system works well and is consistent with my driving habits2. The quality of each camera. Very clear and the connections from the rear camera is great.3. The amount of storage available makes it so that you do not have to download videos each day.4. The touch screen is very responsive and easy to read and use.5. Installation is easy and not to time consuming.6. The DVR program. You can download videos and review them. The program shows exact locations, according to Google Maps, along with speed and key Axis position of the vehicles. Great information if and when there is an accident, to show how you were driving when the accident took place.Suggested Changes:1. The slide out for the front facing camera needs to be longer. I cannot cover the OEM mirror fully and so it looks awfull to see the OEM mirror hanging out of the right side.2. The memory card slot position. It is located on the top and to be able to get to the card you have to undo the cables and then use small fingers to retrieve the card. I would suggest an internal memory that is then able to download either thru Bluetooth or wirelessly to a cellphone, or reposition the location of the car slot to the edges of the mirror.3. There are issues when it comes to night time driving and bright sunlight. The cameras cannot filter the headlights or direct sunlight to where the clarity is diminished and your views are washed out by either the sunlight or headlights during night driving.4. If you buy the hardwire kit and you have a rear mounted battery prepare to buy two kits. The wiring in the kit is not long enough. This product continues to amaze me and I would recommend it to anyone that is looking to protect themselves from scammers and reckless drivers.Whuree Uzumaki has a great channel on YouTube that shows installation of this system in two different vehicles.
