DO NOT BUY
DO NOT, I repeat, DO NOT get this spinning rod. The top of the rod snapped on the second use. Not worth the money at all. Broke while fishing from a pier, not even in open water. Never again buying anything from this brand.

Great combo for the price
I have had several Abu Garcia combos over the years, and this one is a great deal for the price. I have caught big bass and the 7’ pole is strong but still sensitive enough to feel the bites. The reel casts good and is smooth. I would definitely recommend it

Completely happy with us
This is a nice entry-level pole,, I'm not one to buy expensive fishing poles, all my poles have been Shakespeare's around $30 and I only do stream fishing, So spending the $70 was a big jump for me. The weight of this Set up, impressed me the most , It's very lite. Took this up to Lake Shasta for a week, was really impressed and satisfied with the casting/reeling. I caught fish with this every day, although they weren't big, a pound or less. I would recommend this pole and reel

Breaks Easily
I thought this combo was going to be great for the price. It broke down to travel easily, was lightweight, and the reel was smooth. Unfortunately the first fish I caught snapped the pole just above the connecter. This pole might be ok fishing in small ponds but it snapped pretty easily on a 5lb redfish.Update: I have updated my review to your. While the pole snapped, the warranty process was easy and my pole was replaced very quickly. I will use it for smaller fish. A+ customer service.

Very nice light tackle combo.
Great combo for light tackle fishing. Spooled the reel with 6 pound braid and a 10 yard top shot of 8 pound mono. Perfect for throwing a lure or live threadfin shad for white bass.

End cap missing
The end cap on the reel handle was missing upon arrival 3 stars for now but the reel and rod are perfect and smooth like butter

Don't Buy
Rod snapped on my 3rd cast. Never had anything like this happen before. My only guess is it was damaged during shipping. The rod and reel were just thrown in an oversized box with no filler so they just bounced around the whole way here. Wouldn't recommend
